At this year’s Indy 500, @FBIIndianapolis was out in full force, with more than 25 personnel supporting security operations and helping safeguard the 350,000 spectators who packed the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Operational Highlights:
• Responded to 12+ drone incursions throughout race weekend • Our Ground Intercept Teams moved fast - reaching non‑compliant operators within seconds of drone detections across 600+ acres of IMS and surrounding areas • Multiple drones were seized for violating the Temporary Flight Restriction in place for the event
Through close coordination with our local, state, and federal partners - including the Speedway Police Department and DHS - we helped ensure a safe, secure, and successful running of one of America’s largest sporting events.
FBI continues to move full throttle with our interagency partners making major US hosted sporting events like F1, the Club World Cup, the Super Bowl, the approaching 2026 FIFA World Cup, and upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics safe and secure for athletes and viewers.
You have options before choosing to voluntarily abandon a prohibited item. You can take it out to your vehicle, leave it with a non-traveling companion, or place it in a checked bag. Best option is to not bring these items in your carry-on. Always start packing with an empty bag.
“We are bringing justice to some of America’s most vulnerable citizens and justice to the American taxpayer…if you are committing fraud, our task force will find you. We’ll come after you, and we will not rest until justice is served.” - VP Vance🔥
Congratulations to @RepBost on passing H.R. 1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, to ensure no VA bureaucrat can strip a veteran of their constitutional rights without due process.
