@jadenmac8@MA20220106 I absolutely agree! Especially internationally, seems as if there is a rise in European artist on the rise in North America, Its important that Canadian artist are given the same exposure over seas! #POPMUSW22
@TaylorH73063725 Agreed, seems as if 95% of artist in the current soundscape originate from the U.S., It is very important that Canadian artist are given the same shot at exposer! #POPMUSW22
Implementing a quota for Canadian musicians would be effective in increasing the diversity of listeners. In a U.S saturated market it is very important that Canadian artist are given equal opportunities! #POPMUSW22
@Laurraamurray I agree with the enjoyment aspect. However, when referring to consumers of todays music, convince is much more important. If I were able to see a band live while at the gym I absolutely would, but for now ill have to stick to Spotify
@SherriffsLuke Absolutely. To play music at home you had to have access to a turntable along with physical copies. Where as going to live concerts, all you'd have to do is show up. This is the same reason why discovering new bands was so difficult back in the day.
I Believe Walds Statement still stands true. Digital Music has become so accessible to the general public, with little to no play wall. People have become so used to studio recorded / multitracked records that live music doesn't sound nearly as appealing to the ear #POPMUSW22
"Schlock" music artists have been guilty of cultural theft within their music. However, i still believe that this gives the corresponding culture a platform to have their thoughts and beliefs shared to an audience they never would have been able to reach. #POPMUSW22
@shayleebrianna7 Absolutely. Ray used his voice the same way a master piano player would play the piano. Using every inflection and intonation to bring out every bit of soul he possibly could! #POPMUSW22
I believe Ray Charles purposefully used breaking voices to convey an emotional element within his songs. This element layered with the swing tempo and big band music creates the sound that defined Ray Charles in the 1950's #POPMUSW22
With the rise of streaming services, It has never been easier for people to find music that they identify and connect with! This has allowed millions of people to find sub-cultures to which they can feel accepted and valued for their interests and passions. #POPMUSW22
I believe today's pop music isn't dumbed down but more so forced by Record Labels. Pop artists shouldn't be discredited as a lot of them show genuine talent and passion. Their music, however, becomes passively listened to as Record company's try and commercialize them #POPMUSW22
