@mplszinnia@ajsopranooo Yep! And the number of people living in truly rural areas is small. Most people in the suburbs have the same issues as cities (noise, pollution, distance from large natural areas), without any of the benefits.
"when I want to see the city I can go" as if the opposite isn't true? Like I can ride a bus for 20 min and be in a 2k+ acre park with miles of trails, or 30 min in the other direction and be in a wetlands preserve.
@gben78@mr_saltz It would need to be a completely different type of retail. Small kiosks selling easy grab-and-go items. Fruit carts, tacos, hotdogs, Philly merch, etc. since people in the concourse are going to be more on the move compared to suburban station.
@ajsopranooo Do you think we can't also go to Alaska or Maine? Or that people in the city can't have outdoor or wildlife experience? The city is full of a diverse population of people with a wide variety of skills and life experience.
Another reason for why good public transportation is necessary is because old people need to be able to get around safely, without being in danger and without endangering other people
New Yorkers with 16 or more speeding violations will now have to install devices in their cars to limit their driving speeds.
The device will use GPS tracking to restrict how fast the car can drive to the posted speed limit.
The device will be wired into the vehicle's onboard computer.
If drivers refuse to install the device, their registrations will be revoked after 45 days.
friendly piece of advice to anyone who is triggered by this: simply do not get more than 16 speeding violations in a year.
if you can’t do that, then it’s honestly a skill issue and you deserve to have a speed limiter installed in your car
