Native American tribes; the interned Japanese; Holocaust survivors and their descendants; descendants of 9/11 victims; Iranian hostages; Guamanians; the Downwinders and their descendants; victims of sexual abuse that the FBI failed to address; veterans exposed to burn pits; all of these groups get reparations, have received reparations, or will get them.

In some cases, their DESCENDANTS receive reparations. We are told, "Never forget," when when it comes to tragedies done, and the debt owed to other groups. We, Freedmen (Black Americans who are the descendants of those emancipated from American slavery), are the only ones who have not been paid reparations and are told "get over it."

We have not, and we will not. Reparations are due, and we will get them just as we abolished slavery and ended Jim Crow. I make this point at the candidate debate.
