There is a myth that nurturing approaches and trauma informed practice means no boundaries or no expectations. The two pillars of nurture (care & warmth and structure, boundaries & expectations) and being trauma informed mean high expectations and firm boundaries.
This is beautiful. The work you do to nurture roots is also what remains as your child becomes an adult - you have a limited time as an active gardener. Use it wisely 💚
No Excuses. When adults focus on children's behaviour and ignore the reasons, they can do damage which lasts. Life isn't a level playing field, and some children are pulling a much heavier load than others. Here's how it works. (with @_MIssingTheMark) 1/
@IamDav0 But like toto said it was to late to stop Hamilton as is often the case with the car ahead. It was the right call for George so why not take it 🤷🏻♀️
.@MissSDoherty Best sentence ever:"The evidence is the child & not the books"
Learning isn't lost if it's not recorded. It's the change in long term memory. It's not on a piece of paper or whiteboard or manipulatives.
Only evidence you need is the child.

An absolute credit to our community and I know personally the hard work and dedication that goes in to giving children the best early experiences possible! Well done @Rachellou9
@PaulMatthews67 hearing rumours that @GlosCC are closing the Wireworks bridge in Tintern for 9 months from spring ‘22. There doesn’t seem to have been any consultations with residents/stakeholders as to the timing of the works which will have a huge impact on local tourism
@George2Rachel@davestacey @catkucia @MrsCook6 100% this! Individual progress is key. Outcomes and levels don’t take into consideration the child as an individual, all with different starting points and experiences along the way.
NEWS - @WG_Education publishes the Renew & Reform Plan - the government response to the impact of Covid-19 pn schools, pupils and learning. Read it here: https://t.co/57qfqQxFAv
This is key: it doesn't matter what service you offer, what approach, how many certificates are held. It all happens in relationship. So if you don't have that, you don't have anything at all. Relationships ARE the work. So relationships ARE the priority.
@PhonicsforSEN Same for Wales, most schools will say they use phonics to some degree — truth is we just don't know how well reading is being taught: no PSC, and we don't take part in PIRLs. We're the lowest in the UK in PISA. @terrymac51 and I wrote about this here: https://t.co/QiV1pnfT3s
@PaulMatthews67 Hi, are there any updates on the planned closure of the A466 between Chepstow and Tintern? As residents we haven’t heard anything official but hearing on social media it has been pushed back to the 26th April..
