नेहरू जी के निधन के बाद लाल बहादुर शास्त्री जी ने देश की कमान संभाली और उन्होंने IDBI बैंक की स्थापना की।

IDBI की स्थापना का उद्देश्य था: छोटे-छोटे कारोबारियों को ऋण मिले, ताकि वे अच्छे से काम कर देश की तरक्की में योगदान दें।

IDBI बैंक को बेचा ही नहीं जा सकता है।

साल 2003 में पार्लियामेंट्री स्टैंडिंग कमेटी ऑन फाइनेंस ने कह दिया था- IDBI बैंक में सरकार की हिस्सेदारी को 51% से नीचे नहीं घटाया जा सकता है।

उस समय देश की सत्ता में BJP थी और जसवंत सिंह वित्त मंत्री थे।

जसवंत सिंह ने लोकसभा में 08 अगस्त 2003 और राज्यसभा में 15 अगस्त 2003 को अपने भाषण में वादा किया था- हम किसी भी हालत में IDBI बैंक में हिस्सेदारी को 51% से नीचे नहीं घटाएंगे।

लेकिन भगवान राम के नाम पर चंदा चोरी करने वाली BJP अब अपना वादा तोड़ने और IDBI बैंक को बेचने पर तुली है।
