I think this is well said as we have learned this semester that food should be enjoyed and not seen as a award. We should be able to eat what we want. It is important to view food as fuel! We need food to survive including sugar! It is not all bad! @beh353#beh353
Sugar is not the enemy of athletes. Sugar helps fuel your brain and muscles. Pay attention to how much sugar you're consuming rather than worrying about it. Most athletes can fit a fun food into the daily diet.
As a future healthcare provider, I will educate patients in nutrition even if they are healthy. I will return back to this Twitter page as a resource! It is important to enjoy food and not see food as a award because we deserve nutritious and good food! @beh353#beh353
Hi Nya, I completely agree with you that this Twitter page is a great resource to use in the future with patients and even for ourselves. There is endless resources on here to help in better our health! @beh353#beh353
I am grateful to have learned so much more about nutrition. I will look back at our Twitter accounts to access all of these valuable articles for my patients, and also help them in a holistic way of improving their health by recommending changes to their diet. @beh353#beh353
This is important to mention as we just discussed how even though we see these drinks as bad it doesn't mean we can't have them. Why find a alternative when we can just have the actual drink we are craving? It is to satisfy ourselves so we don't want it everyday. @beh353#beh353
Regular sodas, fruit drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, and sweetened water, coffee and tea contain calories but little nutritional value. Learn more about healthy alternatives to sugary drinks. https://t.co/9UDG22WOit #RethinkYourDrink
@Donna_Gee99@beh353 Hi Donna, I have never heard of this diet before! Thank you for providing the article so I can learn more about it! I am surprised to see red wine included in a diet. @beh353#beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you for the great lecture this week! Going back to the milk example, I never understood how important it was to understand where we makeup the nutrients we miss in order to fulfill our dietary requirements if we drink nondairy milk. #beh353@beh353
@EmilyBullen10@beh353 Hi Emily, articles that are geared towards the child and parent is great! Keeping a child healthy is immensely important. A easy read gets straight to the point and does not bore the readers! #beh353@beh353
Every step is important in regards to pregnancy. This article not only gives insight to what to eat during but before pregnancy which is a factor pregnant women do not think about. It is important to keep the body and the baby healthy. @beh353#beh353
Most women know to eat right during pregnancy but why is it important to eat right before getting pregnant? Colleen Sideck, Registered Dietitian with the USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center explains. Learn more https://t.co/rnoPOUacT7
This is a great article for pregnant women and even after! It is not only important to care for the baby but yourself too when pregnant! We only pay attention to the before but never the after so it is great for planning ahead! @beh353#beh353
In case you missed it. Colleen Sideck, Registered Dietitian with the USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center discusses the benefits of eating healthy before and after pregnancy. Check out the interview here: https://t.co/rnoPOUacT7
I think this is a great article for helping limit sugar in anyones diet! Sugar affects every single one of us. I personally reach for sugar to keep myself going throughout the day as I found this helpful in being mindful and substitutions = healthier!

@PhoebeSeto@beh353 Hi Phoebe! I completely agree that patient to doctor relationship is most important in primary care! Treating patients should never be based upon appearance; everyone deserves to be treated equally. #beh353@beh353
From the video, we learn that size does not determine a persons health. The stigma only prevents patients who might be ill from seeking care. As future healthcare providers we treat each patient equally. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. #beh353@beh353
@MyPlate This is a great idea to stick only to buying foods on your list. When grocery shopping we tend to buy things we do not need and out of hunger. Creating a list can ensure budgeting and eating healthy! #beh353@beh353
@CarlySul12 @beh353 Hi Carly, I completely agree with you! I think this plays in hand with the need to make health insurance accessible to everyone and implementing health programs on educating individuals about nutrition in places that might not have them! @beh353#beh353
As James Corden mentioned fat shaming = bullying. The healthcare system needs to change. Health insurance needs to be provided to all. Moving forward, I will educate patients on nutrition and provide helpful ways to eat healthier. @beh353#beh353
When I go to the grocery store, I gear towards fruits but now raspberries are nine dollars so I won't buy them anymore. Instead I purchase snacks that are less healthy and nutritional. Its crazy to see how prices changed over the years for healthy foods. #beh353@beh353
@tcyr20@beh353 Hi Tianna! I am the same as you, when I get home from a long day I usually go for microwaveable meals because they are quick and require no effort. Frozen meals are packed with sodium and additives so I might try meal prepping to make meals healthier!
@USDANutrition@MyPlate This is a great article for us college students looking to eat healthy at a affordable price! This article is great for finding creative ways to make healthy meals! #beh353@beh353
