Looking for ways to build fluency and number sense with integers? Check this out! We're curious about the patterns and relationships Ss notice and would love to hear/see student thinking. All feedback welcome! @Damien_Ettere@BerkeleyEverett@MathematicsFcps
Just updated the Math Flips page (https://t.co/ntVuC5B3FI) to include a link to community created Math Flips!
Thank you to @Damien_Ettere and @KellyQHalpin for sharing these amazing Integer cards! Check them out and share your feedback: https://t.co/6n3OxqHyMu #mtbos#iteachmath
. @WendyWall_Math@KellyQHalpin and I can’t wait to share some brilliance of primary students engaging in rigorous mathematics tasks! We hope to see you there from 1-2 in the Monument Room #NCTMDC23
I feel the same way about math! After a student shares their strategy, I love when kids ask each other questions to understand their thinking. Most of the time their ?s are way better than the ones I planned.
What separates the 10% most engaging teachers from the rest? Hypothesis: the most engaging teachers are also the most ENGAGED teachers? Engaged in their discipline. Engaged by their students. How do we develop that tendency? I wrote about one possibility. https://t.co/4hyjgTOIE2
Listening to teachers’ reflections extended my thinking and made me excited to try new things! I appreciate the opportunity to learn alongside these amazing, reflective practitioners!
Absolutely 💙our teachers and their commitment to our ss & their professional growth. Tonight @KellyQHalpin & @TeachingTruba host a Number Talks class with 15/18 members of this class @TimberLaneES teachers. Beyond proud & appreciative. @FCPS_TitleI@FCPSR2
Do you love using the 5 Practices as a roadmap to facilitate student thinking? We do too! We leveraged S strengths to develop two different learning goals for the same task. Check it out! @Damien_Ettere

The best multiplication charts are made for students by students. Instead of just facts...why not have a visual? Make facts meaningful.

Check out the 5 Practices in action here! The strategies were selected and sequenced in such an intentional way to address big fractional ideas. I appreciate the opportunity to connect that last strategy with the first couple of pictorial ones.
