Of all the footage we’ve encountered, this is perhaps one of the most distressing.

It really doesn’t get much worse.

During PETA’s 2021 undercover investigation of the Envigo beagle-breeding facility in Cumberland, Virginia, investigators documented workers injecting euthanasia drugs directly into puppies’ hearts while they were reportedly still fully conscious.

A tiny puppy, believed to be just days old, appears to be euthanised without sedation, with the needle inserted directly into her heart.

Dogs are not here to be experimented on.
They are not here to be used for blood or organ collection.

And puppies who don't meet a breeding facility’s standards should never be treated as disposable.

This footage is a painful reminder of why our rehoming team is working to build the public case for rehoming dogs from facilities like MBR Acres — giving them the chance to leave testing behind and experience life with a loving family.

I’m 100% with you. It’s sickening that these dogs aren't free yet like the US Ridglan Beagles! 😢Animal testing is so outdated. I’m constantly targeting MBR Acres suppliers with emails and reviews to force a boycott. Let's shut it down! Join the protest on September 26th at MBR Acres, Scotland, & the USA. 🐾

Yes, anyone who abandons a dog, or any other pet should face punishment. When someone takes on an animal as a pet, they should make a formal commitment to always act in that animal’s best interests. If, for any reason, they can no longer uphold that responsibility, they must surrender the animal to a reputable rescue.
