Really proud of what our Dem club is doing. Today, thanks to the generous a attendees of our free picnic + food drive, we were able to deliver 85 lbs of food, 11 lbs of infant formula, 27 liters of drinks, personal care items + children’s medicine to one of our local pantries.
The U.S. House of Representatives just narrowly passed a Republican-backed budget plan, which proposes deep cuts to programs that support low and middle-income Americans. Key components of this plan include:
• Major tax cuts primarily benefiting the wealthy
• At least $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act
• At least $230 billion in cuts to food assistance programs such as SNAP
• $175 billion in new funding for mass deportation efforts
• A $175 billion increase in military spending
