I’m chronically ill and I don’t work. I’m not on “vacation” and I’m not bored. I’m quite busy struggling to survive every day. I gave up most of my socializing and most of my hobbies. Not by choice. Because my body decided for me. Please don’t call me lucky or try to fill my time
Hey everyone! 🌟 Are you a person with MECFS or a disability who's found a fulfilling career working from home? I'm an ACA registered counsellor eager to connect with fellow individuals who've managed to balance disability & starting something new. #MECFS#PWD#LongCovid
@FranceyME Thanks :) I'm sure you'd make a great counsellor if you chose to pursue that. ❤️. It's something I wanted to do pre-mecfs so I feel very lucky to be able to do it now.
@FranceyME I visited your linktree & ME work/Etsy store . <3 It's such a good idea. - I've been having trouble reconciling my online ME advocacy work and my new role as a counsellor. I want to keep them separate but not hidden from each other. - If that makes sense.

Jacinta Price claiming "there is no ongoing negative impacts of colonialism". So, as a psychologist, and scientistic and an Aboriginal one at that; I thought I would just cut and paste some scientific data; as much as I would like to take her word for it.

@thewibble2 What shocks me about this is that nursing homes don't have to tell residents when there is a positive case in the home anymore.
Frustrating because vulnerable people should not be visiting.
@nameshiv There's some wonderful research from 2021, which looks at old ship logs.
Apparently sperm whales shared ship attack information (I.e. don't bunch up to protect the young) across the seas.
So whales without exposure to whaling changed their behaviours as well. So cool.
Not a surprise to anyone who’s had their life blown to bits for the last 3 years.
But great to see it studied/reported in these stark terms. Comparison one of our best tools given how difficult it is for healthy people to get their heads round it.

@UrgleyClark@MarieThereseBka I'm now doing a counselling course about CBT and the list of conditions it can apparently treat still lists: physical: chronic fatigue.
(My teacher kindly skipped over that)
@UrgleyClark@MarieThereseBka Same, I was told to try enjoying having coffee out, but walking to the coffee shop was well above my safe level of activity (which I would've known if I was heart rate pacing then) and I got much sicker after each outing.
@MarieThereseBka From a doctor who was filling in for my doctor while away: "You should know I don't treat people like you"
Presumably, he meant people with a chronic complex painful disability unable to tolerate medications and spending 100% of their energy on getting an IV saline bag?
