Life is full of challenges. We don’t always have control over the discomfort, but how we respond turns the volume knob of suffering ⬆️ or ⬇️, and creates opportunity to thrive. An oldie but goodie from @sweatscience summarizing our work in this space👇
Suffering better through mindfulness, acceptance & realistic problem solving. Thanks to @sweatscience/@outsidemagazine for sharing our work and @brycerows & @racingtheplanet runners for teaching us important lessons! https://t.co/qB5Nnmwr0h
Building off the team’s focus on “the players, the players, the players,” for me it’s “the people”. Here’s a few photos of the great people I got to spend the season with and the most important people in my life - my family and our friends who showed up wherever we played.
And that’s a wrap on @UW_Football’s 2025 season. Lots of growth this year: from 6-7 in 2024 to 9-4 in 2025; brought home the Apple Cup; finally got the B1G road win; ended the season with the LA Bowl belt.
Grateful for the chance to contribute across the full sport psychology continuum - performance, mental health, and injury support - alongside an outstanding group of players, coaches, and staff. Already hard at work on what’s possible for 2026.
In our latest podcast episode, @ChrisHughen sat down with @KevinAlschuler to discuss uncertainty, coping, and resilience from the perspective of a rehab psychologist.
We dive into how patients and clinicians can navigate the challenges of uncertainty, adaptive vs maladaptive coping strategies, normalizing mental health support, and much more.

From @uswomensopen to @LumenField to @GreatestSetting to @TonyTheTigerSB & everywhere in between - fields, courts, pools, courses, board/locker/conference/clinic rooms, hallways, & Zoom screens - 2024 has been a great year working in sport/performance psychology. Bring on 2025!
Awesome win for Madison Young on the @EpsonTour went to a small college, turned pro in 2020 without much money. Said she played local stuff only to save money and saved for Q-school. Earned her way onto Epson, and in her third year out there gets her first win.
Love to see it
Lucky to have @KevinAlschuler once again provide an awesome guest lecture on ethics in sports psychology, to our ethics and professional issues in clinical psychology grad class.
So many interesting & relevant applications to areas across our field.
Thank you, Kevin!

This is OUR Super Bowl!
Josh Kerr broke the indoor 2-mile WORLD RECORD today with a time of 8:00.67 at the 116th running of The Milrose Games. Kerr’s performance also set a British National Record, surpassing the legendary Mo Farah.
This is why marathoning and other endurance events fascinate me so much. The athletic ability is one thing. But the mental ability to disassociate pain/fear/discomfort from performance is something we can all learn more about. (Cc: @KevinAlschuler)
On that note, we have multiple athletes on this hunt for @Paris2024 & I couldn’t be more excited to support them as they pursue this dream. High pressure for sure, but ultimately it’s an opportunity to go put it all together & see where you stack up. A challenge to take head on!
#MarathonTrials24 was a fantastic reminder that we all should watch the Olympic trials. The thrill of victory and agony of defeat. A celebration of four years of training for one moment. I’ve said this for years: The biggest Olympian feat may be simply making it to the @Olympics!
