@eun5124 @MrsMcCoy19@Mr_Blystone Really? My physics teacher in HS related physics to our everyday lives almost every day. He gave examples related to driving since students were new to driving and many kids would come in saying the couldn't not think about physics when they did things. #EdTechChatWSUV
@JonMonserMIT @trevor_cashmore @Mr_Blystone Make sure you get sponsored and provide enough copies for everyone in the classroom. Many games algorithms to calculate damage and other statistics with some being more complex than others. #EdTechChatWSUV
A7: I could add some tools that I have used to help me during my classes. I found purdue owl a useful tool for citations especially when different classes followed different citation styles. #edtechchatwsuv
@JonMonserMIT I was guilty of chronically falling asleep in class when I was in HS. My teacher knew that I read the textbook and understood the material so he let me. He told me to drop the class since I didn't need the credits and told me when he would have labs and invited me to come.
A6: I would first talk to the students to figure out what the problem was. There are too many variables to assume that it's the lesson or unit. If they were the problem then I would try to work with the students if we could adjust the unit to interest them. #edtechchatwsuv
A5: I wouldn't require selfies for students. It's possible for people to search for info on pictures to figure out when and where they were taken. In a sense it is personal information. I'd prefer having students use avatars and remain as anonymous as possible #edtechchatwsuv
A4: I think it is important that students learn to keep their personal information secret and to remain anonymous. They should always aware of what they download and from where. However, I don't want to make everyone as paranoid as myself. #edtechchatwsuv
A3: Videos would be able to give new perspectives to students into the lives of the people from the past. It would also be neat to be able to contact people in the field that students could do interviews with such as politicians or skilled professionals. #edtechchatwsuv
@mikedteacher Google tools have many uses and are a form of tech. It may not be the flashiest one out there but it has various different uses. @EdTechChatWSUV
A2: I would like to incorporate the tools from google. Something that is useful and could catch the interests but not overwhelm kids that are less tech savvy. #edtechchatwsuv
A1: CoSN – Consortium for School Networking Conference. I like the theme they chose, the fourth industrial revolution. It is easily relatable to history and connects to the present at the same time. #edtechchatwsuv
A10. I value the tools that Google has to offer. They are a good starting point for students with little experience and have a variety of uses. #edtechchat
A9. I would give students multiple platforms in which they can make their voice heard. I would teach them methods they can work together to make a bigger impact with their voice and give examples in history where people have made changes by voicing their concerns. #edtechchat
A8. I think it is important to talk with the students to get an understanding where everyone is starting at. From there you I make plans to have students help each other as well as figure out what students want to learn and what skills would help them most. #edtechchat
A7. I believe collaboration projects could be used to assess students. Students can evaluate their peers to keep each other accountable and file a small report at the end for teacher to use for assessments. #edtechchat
A6. I believe that some people value traditional school methods too much. However, the world is changing and it is important that education keeps up with those changes in order for students to learn skills that they can use now and in the future. #edtechchat
A4.1 I believe more and more parents are noticing the significance of digital curriculum. We are living in an age where technology is a part of everyday life. Parents will become more aware as the curriculum grows. #edtechchat
A3. I feel that the digital curriculum here is growing at different rates depending on how comfortable the teachers are with trying new things. But overall I feel the teachers are making an effort to work with students to learn what works best. #edtechchat
