Over 300 civilians arrived in Zaporzhizhia tonight from #Maripol and surrounding areas as part of a safe passage operation.
We are deeply relieved that more people have been spared and have made it out safely.

Our team is currently participating in an ongoing operation to facilitate the safe passage of civilians out of the Azovstal plant & Mariupol towards Zaporizhzhia.
This complex operation is conducted in coordination with the parties to the conflict & the @UN.
“Neutrality is not a popular concept during the war,” says @ICRC spokesperson @AlyonaSynenko, “but neutrality is an essential concept for us to be able to do our work.” She also notes that “we are banging heads together” – just not in public.
UPDATE: Our team led a convoy of buses and private cars with over 500 people to Zaporizhzhia.
Those who were part of the convoy had managed to flee #Mariupol.
We hope this helps people find the safe haven they so desperately need right now.
Yesterday, we donated 60 tons of food and essential aid to @RedCrossUkraine in #Kharkiv.
This will help thousands to have access to some of the basics they so desperately need.
In the coming days, we'll be out delivering more food, more water. This is our priority.
The course is aimed to improve emergency care for the wounded and sick in situations of conflict & violence. Some of the participants have been identified as potential trainers to replicate the course autonomously and spread knowledge on basic standards for emergency care.
.@WHO in collaboration with @ICRC_ua & @IFEM2 developed the course for frontline providers who manage acute life-threatening conditions with limited resources in times of conflict and violence.
As part of the regular capacity building offered by @ICRC_ua to healthcare workers in #Donbas#Ukraine, 20 doctors, nurses & first responders took part in a 5-day Basic Emergency Care course last week.

Road safety laws are not enough to reduce road traffic collision fatalities. Adding a public health perspective and the enhancement of the post-crash response could save more lives in LMICs - https://t.co/7SVTxhmAUR @drmickmolloy @DrGregCiottone @KilliamArgoteMD@KilliamArgoteMD

This quote from a colleague in Fiji sums up @developingem. I can’t wait to hear all the incredible speakers in my session ‘Global EM: social science and narrative in emergency’ next week in Cartagena, Colombia! #DevEM2020
