K2 Space has been confirmed as a satellite bus provider for the @USSpaceForce Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global (PTS-G) initiative, which will launch to GEO in 2028. This announcement is a milestone for K2 as our first participation in a Pentagon program of record.
Under the award announced by @USSF_SSC earlier this week, K2 will supply a satellite to our partners at @SESSpaceDefense, one of two primes on the contract. K2’s large, resilient satellites are built with the power and mass to deploy the anti-jam capabilities and consistent communications that the PTS-G constellation requires.

Heard from VC LPs this week:
“We’ve jumped the shark on the sub-syndication SPVs” 🦈🦈🦈
Reminds me a lot of the SPAC craze. What is a useful and standard industry structure (eg bringing your LPs into coinvest) has turned into a money grab (see pic). There will be fine outcomes and terrible ones. Not hard to see that it’s a bad idea to raise $$ from LPs you have never met, who have never invested in your funds, and even worse, when it’s a group of unknown LPs consolidated by someone who is layering another fee on top. 🫣
Jumping the shark = it’s the beginning of the end
Since first mtg @AnthropicAI in 22, we've been struck by their ambitions of bldg safe & aligned intelligence. In <5 yrs, they've been on generational trajectory, crossing $47b rr revs
Pumped to lead their Series H 🚀 Excited to make this Altimeter’s largest investment to date
We've raised $65 billion in Series H funding at a $965 billion post-money valuation, led by @AltimeterCap, Dragoneer, @Greenoaks, and @sequoia.
This investment will help us advance our research and expand our capacity to meet growing demand for Claude.
We are thrilled to lead @AnthropicAI Series H!
Anthropic is making intelligence ubiquitous and transforming how industries are thinking about operating. We have been in awe of their capacity to metabolize hard things and make it look easy, whether that's unlocking research breakthroughs, shipping products, or driving compute efficiency.
We believe the Anthropic team has built something rare: a culture where mission, talent, and velocity are perfectly aligned. That foundation allows them to redefine what’s possible in AI.
What also stands out is the simultaneous speed and precision of their execution. Claude has become the default operating system for entire enterprises, powering coding, reasoning, and complex workflows at a scale we've never seen before. We believe their ability to ship high-performance systems while also pushing the frontier on safety and alignment is unmatched.
Huge congrats to the entire Anthropic team. Deeply honored to continue to partner with you as you continue to set the standard for what safe and powerful intelligence can be. What Anthropic has accomplished is one for the history books, and yet the best is still ahead. 🚀 @altcap@paulinebhyang@ayanagarwal0
We're proud to congratulate Apoorv Agrawal (@apoorv03) on being named to the @Forbes Midas Brink List.
Since joining Altimeter, Apoorv has helped lead our investing efforts across AI and software, backing category-defining companies with deep conviction and a long-term perspective. His portfolio includes @OpenAI, @Revolut, @baseten, @glean, @Xbow, and @parloa_ai among others.
This recognition is incredibly well deserved. Congratulations, Apoorv. 👏
@cerebras is officially public. A milestone for one of the most important AI infrastructure companies in the age of inference. We invested 8 to 9 years ago on a long shot. Proud of @andrewdfeldman and the entire team for pulling it off. Congratulations!
Really excited to partner with @anduriltech on Golden Dome Space Based interceptors.
We'll be providing multiple host spacecraft vehicles across multiple lines of effort.
Some interesting points here:
1. This is one of the most relevant uses cases for the high payload mass of the K2 satellite
2. We’re the only ones that have launched anything close to the production system required
3. The platform necessary here is the exact same platform we’re using for our commercial constellations
4. The platform necessary is the exact same platform that is flying on-orbit today
Layer by layer - the team is stacking wins as we endeavor to have the K2 platform be in the center of some of the most critical constellations coming online over the next decade.
Heard from LPs this week: more than a bit of fatigue What’s driving it?
- Constant fundraising by GPs in their portfolio, but little liquidity
- Portftolios that seem promising, but deep concern about disruption and / or bubble pricing 🫧
- Constant headlines on the model companies - on financials, on capital raising and innovation - hard to keep up
- The “how concentrated should I be in these same companies” question
- The “how worried should I be about all of the PE software in my book” dynamic
- Huge dispersion in public markets
- It’s annual meeting season so they are traveling nonstop
- Oh yeah, and there’s a war on top of it…
Hug an LP today! 🙏
Exciting milestone from @ProfluentBio today: a major partnership with @EliLillyandCo that validates what frontier AI can do in drug development. This team has been building toward exactly this. AI will massively accelerate the drug discovery space
We’re proud to announce that K2 Space has been selected by @SES_Satellites to manufacture 28 K2 satellites for meoSphere, SES’s next-generation MEO network.
The program marks a step-change in how MEO systems are built and operated, combining higher power, greater flexibility, and a more scalable approach to production. As SES CEO Adel Al-Saleh told Bloomberg, "You've got to be doing it in a one-year cycle. It's exactly what we're going to be changing."
The initial batch of 28 high-power satellites will significantly boost SES's MEO network capacity, and operate as the foundation for its new network of ~100 satellites in MEO.

Congrats XBOW on another milestone! If you're a security leader thinking about how to keep pace with AI-powered attacks, the XBOW team (@oegerikus@nicowaisman Niro Albert Jonaki + team) would love to hear from you.
When we first invested, the thesis was simple: AI would reshape offense before it reshaped defense. Attackers wouldn't wait for permission to use LLMs. Defenders needed an autonomous system that could match that speed.
Since our investment, XBOW has proven the thesis. Top of the HackerOne leaderboard. Over 100 customers. Running safely in live production at some of the most security-conscious companies in the world.
What excites me most is what comes next. The shift from point-in-time pentesting to continuous autonomous security testing is just beginning, and XBOW is defining the category.
Excited to be on this journey w Ron @Konstantine@laurenmhreeder@wmccarthy11 and welcome our friends Sam Fort Ramin Sayar William Morrison Sanjot Malhi!
There's a narrative going around that Block layoffs are all about right-sizing COVID over-hiring + bloat vs. @jack's claim of efficiency gains from AI, mainly "evidenced" by showing total HC over time, but the reality is Block is one of the most efficient payments companies on a Gross Profit per Average FTE basis pre-layoffs…
Yes it's probably true that Block (+ everyone else in ecomm/digital payments) over-hired during COVID but it's also true that they >3x'd gross profit from 2019 to 2022 as the digital economy accelerated… and eventually they grew into their "bloat" + drove operating leverage through 2025
The layoffs today likely just further extended their lead above peers while their CFO cited a >40% increase in production code shipped per engineer since September on the call. The real question is whether AI-driven productivity gains can also translate into top-line re-acceleration, and early signs say yes → Block raised 2026 GP guidance to $12.2B (+18% YoY), accelerating off 2025's 17%, with ~40% fewer people

Heard from LPs -- 2 debates dominate convos:
1) The eventual demise of SaaS & its impact on loaded PE/VC portfolios
2) The IPOs of megacap private tech (SpaceX, etc).
Many think #1 inevitable and #2 needed to save us all (need liquidity for returns keep $$ flowing in!)
