Unexploded ordnance is history’s cruel legacy, endangering the lives of Solomon Islanders decades after WW2 ended. The 🇦🇺 Defence Force has just finished training up 12 Royal 🇸🇧 Police Force officers to dispose of unexploded ordnance safely in line with UN standards. 🇸🇧🤝🇦🇺

A security partnership in action! Having spent 151 days at sea in 2021, the Guardian Class patrol Boat Gizo is now in Carins, Queensland, for its first deep maintenance since it was handed over in 2019. 🇸🇧🤝🇦🇺

Following a meeting with PM Sogavare, delighted to confirm 🇦🇺 will extend the Solomons International Assistance Force until Dec 2023, build a radio network across 🇸🇧, construct a second patrol boat outpost on the eastern border and provide SBD130 million in budget support. 🇸🇧🤝🇦🇺
