📢Peace.
📢Prevention.
📢Country ownership.
📢Partnerships and self-reliance.
At our @UN_CFS side event, @Habibmayar outlined what it takes to prevent recurring food crises and how the network helps turn these priorities into collective action @g7plus@WFP@FAOemergencies
I was honoured to participate, as an Eminent Person of the g7+, in the high-level summit themed, “Charting Concrete Mechanisms for Stability, Self-Reliance and Resilience.”
I emphasised that countries emerging from conflict must not remain permanent recipients of international intervention. Instead, they must be empowered to lead their own recovery, contribute as equal partners in development, and offer solutions to shared challenges.
I am deeply honored to be appointed as an Eminent person of the G7+ countries. Over the past decade, our coalition has collaborated closely to support the transition of our states from fragile to developing and thriving nations, thereby strengthening our collective voice in peacebuilding and global governance reforms.
As we transfer the leadership of G7+ to the Solomon Islands, we remain committed to working together diligently in accordance with our shared principles. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Timor-Leste for their ongoing support of the G7+ secretariat.
The g7+ proudly congratulates H.E. Dr. @rdussey for his visionary leadership in championing this historic initiative to reshape Africa’s map and for successfully advancing and passing the resolutions at the United Nations.
This is a moment of great pride for @TogoOfficiel and for the g7+ community. We commend H.E. Dr. Dussey for his courage, determination, and leadership in bringing collective aspirations to the global stage.
On Friday, the United Nations General Assembly adopted an African proposal for a new world map, which shows countries’ true size relative to one another.

As @turkiyecop31 approaches in Antalya, the message from countries affected by conflict and fragility is clear: climate finance must reach those who need it most.
For communities facing conflict, drought, floods, displacement and food insecurity, climate change is not a distant environmental challenge, it is a daily struggle for survival, resilience and peace.
Habib Ur Rehman Mayar, Deputy Secretary-General of the g7+ Secretariat, calls for COP31 to move beyond pledges and deliver real implementation. As he puts it:
“Climate finance must follow vulnerability, not bankability.”
That means simplifying access, investing in national capacity, and supporting long-term resilience, not just short-term projects.
If COP31 is truly an “Implementation COP,” its success should be measured not by the number of announcements, but by whether finance reaches communities on the frontlines.
Climate justice means leaving no fragile or conflict-affected country behind. @FriEnt_news

@deeprootyemen@g7plus@BARAKAT_Sultan
Today, I discussed with Dr. Helder da Costa, Secretary-General of the g7+, ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in support of the priorities of fragile states, and to unify advocacy efforts to ensure their priorities are reflected in international forums.
I reaffirmed the importance of shifting from humanitarian response to sustainable development, ensuring the continuity of essential services and ensuring that fragile states, including Yemen, are not left to face crises alone.
How do we adapt the peace and security architecture for a world it was not built for?
Our Geneva Incubation Space II report, with @g7plus and @SwissDevCoop, tackles that question.
