@_ExitTheLeft@LeftyWinter Lmao only Republicans ever claimed they weren't capitalist. Democrats point to a solid safety net, suggest we adopt some policies and y'all have been screaming socialism ever since. Now you want to play semantics over something the people you support started. Crazy
@VoluntaryMoron@DanielPark43278@slcmof The 14th amendment didn't create birthright citizenship, it just expanded it to be universal.
Birthright citizenship stems from English common law, and was held up by judges well before the 14th
@LoneStarMfg@Valiant16536285@GregAbbott_TX Can you read? Foreigners, aliens who belong to the families of embassadors or foreign ministries.
Just because they said foreigners doesn't mean you can stop reading their. Jesus Christ
@GregAbbott_TX A missed opportunity to throw away the law and burn the constitution. Agree with the law or not. The supreme Court is not the method of overturning it. Maybe have a popular idea for once and it won't have to come to this
@VoluntaryMoron@DanielPark43278@slcmof What law stopped them before that? From my understanding the only law not allowing people in at the time was the Chinese exclusion act which only applied to Chinese people.
@DouglasnTexas@TheGarpInvestor@SenSanders These companies are allowed to be successful thanks to publicly funded infrastructure and subsidies. No one is upset at the local kid starting a business and getting rich. It's the big companies paying dirty with 0 consequences. Gov picking winners and losers. That's the issue
@TheGarpInvestor@SenSanders We have a free market ๐๐๐ that's a good one.
Maybe if a fiduciary duty didn't mean skimping on r&d for more stock buybacks China wouldn't be so close on our heels. Falling from grace because the do nothing class (investors) keep demanding more from less
@Dreadknought176@hiitsmemooneh ?? Not sure what trump or elon has to do with any of this ๐. It's thanks to our amazing blue cities that this world cup is so successful. The same cities trump has spent the last 10 years calling shit holes. The same cities hosting every world cup.
@AlbertMoscoff@signulll Useless in what regard? Maximizing income? Sure. But look at quality of life. Seems people might genuinely be happier in "socialist" countries.
Maybe happy citizens is something to strive for one day
@Handre Productive has already gone up. This is a much needed correction. You're looking at it backwards. Does it have nasty short term effects? Sure. But not as bad as the long term effects of doing nothing
@thenarr47271717@ImTotallyaVA@DanFriedman81 It's not a fact. He's not a real trillionair. Money used to mean things. Now you can shift the value of your company a few billion dollars with a single tweet. He hasn't generated a trillion in wealth he's generated a trillion is speculation. A trillion that can't be cashed out
@DanFriedman81 These so called "capitalist" believe they hit a triple when in reality they were born on 3rd. Yes some people work harder, but to act like a trillionair could exist anywhere is absurd. They're allowed to exist thanks to our publicly funded infrastructure and govt subsidies.
@JStuartMacLean@ItsLulu_7 It's to be expected without guard rails in place. We build a system where simply having money is enough to profit. Obviously the more you have the richer you get. Obviously at a certain point you can buy elections and policy. It's to be expected with out intervention
