On this #InternationalMigrantsDay, we’re proud to launch the MOVE AFRICA project, an AU initiative that aims to reshape how migration is understood and discussed across the continent.
By fostering positive, informed narratives and advocating for inclusive policies, MOVE AFRICA aligns with Agenda 2063, highlighting migration as a catalyst for economic growth, regional integration, and social cohesion.
The project supports key AU frameworks like the Migration Policy Framework for Africa (MPFA), the Free Movement Protocol (AU FMP), and the Joint Labour Migration Programme (JLMP), tackling misconceptions and emphasizing migration as a pathway to #opportunity, #dignity, and #prosperity.

On behalf of H.E Dr. Workneh ES of IGAD and my capacity, together with H.E Dorothee Hulter, GIZ Country Director for Ethiopia/Djibouti I handed over the certificate of successful completion of OD course for IGAD staff organized by GIZ. I suggest to continue the training.
As part of improving the quality of migration and displacement statistics within the #IGAD region, the Director of @IGADhealthS, Mme. @AlwanFathia, representing the IGAD Executive Secretary, H.E. @DrWorkneh, handed over ICT equipment to the Institute of Statistics of Djibouti to support the data capabilities of Djibouti's Migration Unit. This support aims to strengthen Djibouti's Migration Unit's data capabilities, which is vital given Djibouti‘s geographical significance as a key migration corridor, ultimately improving their capacity to manage migration effectively.
The project is supported by @giz_gmbh
