Got a call from my cousin today who lives in Citrus County. She moved here fr Knoxville some yrs ago. I forwarded to her my video (which I posted on X a few days ago), of the dialing down Pinellas County has done with our water pressure. This past Thursday, I could not get water out of a showerhead in any of my bathrooms. She lives on a canal that feeds into a large lake in Inverness. In the middle of the canal, it is 6" deep, yet should be 10'. She cannot sell as property values have greatly reduced. She explained the growth explosion in Lecanto alone...mostly apartments.

A few weeks ago, I began researching about our aquafier and its rapid depletion. The primary reason is due to extensive population growth. No surprise there.

My fellow Floridians. We cannot continue on this path. We are already in trouble.

I compared satellite data from 2016 > April 2026 which confirms groundwater in northern and central Florida has significantly depleted. That is only a 10 year span of time. South Florida has their own problems as well with the Biscayne Aquifer.

Demand from our exploding population and over- development accounts for 64% of water use, which far exceeds the ability of the aquifer to self-replenish.

Additionally, extensive paving and development prevent rainwater from soaking into the ground, which has accelerated this problem.

We MUST make our elected officials implement extensive conservation and planning changes. Otherwise, our freshwater basins will continue to rapidly deplete which is detrimental to our drinking water supply.

This just posted on our local FB group page and thought I would share it to show who JAY COLLINS really is-

I am the owner of the Saucy Lady food truck. I was there during Hurricane Ian, feeding people, posted over at the convenience store.I will never forget that there was a bunch of trash left behind after a different food truck had been there. I was so aggravated that someone would create more clutter amid all the debris. That is not how we operate.
I believe there was a realtor next door to the convenience store. She and I talked about it, and I told her I would make sure it was taken care of. I called headquarters, and later on at dusk, here comes Jay Collins. At that time, he worked for a non-profit. I don’t want to mention them by name because I don’t want you guys to think that this post is being driven by them.
He wasn't a Senator yet, and he wasn't a Lieutenant Governor; he was a retired Army veteran. I remember thinking, "Oh my gosh, I know how far he had to drive to get here," and we all know how long it took to get onto the island at that point. That didn’t stop him.
That’s Jay Collins. That is the man who is running for Governor. He has a ton of other credentials, obviously, but that is the one that seriously moved me. Please don’t forget him at the polls.

I think the bigger part of this conversation that gets missed is immigrants today are nothing like those who came to Western countries in the 70s/80s.

Today's migrants come from incredibly fucked up places. They disrupt social cohesion. They don't learn the native language. They create enclaves. They don't assimilate, and what's more, they don't WANT to assimilate.

They are economic leeches who take advantage of the enormous welfare states that Western governments have created.

They try to force themselves on the native population as poor minority groups (when most of them are from global majorities lol) while asking us to change our way of life to accommodate THEM.

Mass immigration is the kiss of death for all these reasons and more.
