This #InclusionTuesday, we spotlight our work with widows and elderly women in Terego District, many of whom remain vulnerable to eviction, property grabbing, and exploitation due to limited land documentation and low access to justice.
Through a targeted community awareness session supported by 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇱🇮🇪, we engaged elderly women and widows on land rights, succession laws, GBV, and available legal remedies, while also providing legal consultations to vulnerable persons facing active disputes.
As land conflicts continue to largely affect older women under customary tenure systems, community-based legal empowerment remains critical to protecting their rights, dignity, and security.
FIDA-Uganda celebrates the dignity, resilience, and rights of workers across Uganda, especially women whose labour drives communities and economies forward.
Through our work under the @EnabelinUganda project in the Rwenzori and Albertine regions, we trained over 2,000 women employees in the hospitality and agriculture sectors, including women with disabilities, to identify, prevent, and report workplace gender-based violence and discrimination.
By equipping workers with knowledge of their rights and strengthening safe reporting pathways, we are contributing to workplaces that are safer, more inclusive, and respectful for all. Because safe workplaces are fundamental to equality and economic empowerment.

This Labour Day, we stand for every worker’s right to dignity, safety, and justice. No one should face stigma or discrimination at work.
