It’s #SourceWaterProtectionWeek!
This week, we’re recognizing the critical role our rivers play in delivering safe, reliable drinking water. Be sure to follow us, share and comment to help spread the word to #ProtectTheSource!
I think Senators from both parties were surprised to learn this bill includes a $100M slush fund for OMB.
That's right — while OMB guts FEMA funding & more, they want taxpayers to give THEM an extra $100M. I introduced an amendment to stop this scam. Shame on Rs for blocking it.
Republicans are struggling on Senate floor to figure out how to: 1) give massive tax breaks to the wealthy, 2) increase deficit, 3) blow up healthcare system, 4) undermine energy independence.
Most remarkable part? Most of them hate it, but are doing it anyway because Trump wants it.
It appears that this bill might be too big and not beautiful enough for some of my Republican colleagues.
If we stand together, we can fight back against these cuts to Medicaid, increased energy costs, and skyrocketing deficits.
Update: We have now been at this for 22 hours and Republicans are still hard at work trying to kick 17 million Americans off their health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
Thank you @SenBooker for 18 hours on the Senate floor and still going to draw attention to the short-sighted devastation of critical government safeguards and initiatives
Yesterday at Social Security, co-President Musk (where is proper capitalization) and the nineteen year olds from DOGE, did away with the Office of Transformation. It’s mission? — to make it easier for customers to get their business done with the agency online, on phone, plain language, simplified forms — why are they trying to make it harder for people who already paid in for their benefits?
Following a year of record ocean temperatures and heat waves blanketing the country, the @HouseGOP wants MORE offshore drilling.
This will only further harm the ocean and worsen the climate crisis we face. @SenateDems: REJECT the House’s dirty energy policies!

No matter who is in the White House, one thing remains true: Americans want to protect U.S. coastlines.
Our elected officials should be working on solutions that #ProtectOurCoast, instead of wasting time holding hearings that are glorified ads for Big Oil donors.
#ICYMI Yesterday was the 50th Anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act. See how SWC members celebrated this momentous milestone in public health protection! https://t.co/EsKTz8Eddt
Happy 50th birthday to the Safe Drinking Water Act! Thank you for doing so much to protect our precious drinking water sources. Celebrate with us by learning about SWC's work on source water protection - and how you can get involved! https://t.co/5QvCVL9WKU
Bottled water has a valuable place as a beverage during a water emergency, but since your tap water likely meets all drinking water standards, there's no need to buy bottled water outside of an emergency. Read more in our latest blog entry.

“We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected,” said a key Trump adviser. “When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down."

@NCHH A10: My vision - in 50 years we prioritize safer alternatives and safer materials, have a healthier economy & a hazard-prevention approach, and only a memory of lead poisoning. Thank you @NCHH for all you do to help us get there. #NLPPWchat#NLPPW202 @CleanH2OAction @CleanH2OFund
@NCHH@EPA A9: I’m hopeful that we’re moving to put lead in drinking water behind us. It will be a big, difficult and expensive task so now I hope for continued federal investment in this critical task and renewed effort on other lead sources. #NLPPWchat#NLPPW2024#CleanH2OAction
@NCHH A8: Caring about climate change and lead poisoning prevention are related – they're about wanting to protect people and communities and promote healthy people, thriving communities, economic well-being. We can and must address both. #NLPPWchat#NLPPW2024 @CleanH2OAction
@NCHH A6: For those working on federal policy, “lead-free” should mean an all-of-government effort to get lead out of homes, products, food. Recent progress on drinking water is welcome and we need equally aggressive action on all sources. #NLPPWchat#NLPPW2024#CleanH2OAction
@NCHH A4: We know all lead exposure can impact health so need to empower ALL federal agencies to get lead out of our lives – food, products, drinking water, paint, dust, soil. #NLPPWchat#NLPPW2024 @CleanH2OAction
@NCHH A2: A White House and U.S. Congress can fund lead removal, including lead service lines in drinking water systems & paint AND empower agencies to address ALL sources #NLPPWchat#NLPPW2024 @CleanH2OAction
