#LegalTechDialogues: "A government bond has a price, that's not what we are always told. We must therefore know that the higher the price, the lower the interest. This means that for the person who is buying in a good price environment, you will get profit and vice-versa."

#LegalTechDialogues: "My key take home from your [@LouisNkizito] insightful submission is that as a lawyer, when engaging your business client, there are things you must not sweep under the carpet and key of them are the unit trusts. All advocates biased on the issue can now understand that it's quite a lucrative venture."
Adv. @TonyKiire - Director, @LTechDialogues@DiamondAdvocate@PentagonAdvocat
#LegalTechDialogues: "These unit trusts also have a lifespan and can run for as long as 10 to 15 years, but it is important to understand the nitty-gritties of how the Unit Trust operates."

#LegalTechDialogues: "When discussing finance, you cannot dodge technology. Sectors like finance, defence and medicine are intertwined with technology. This implies that Legal Tech Dialogues needs to have more of these discussions especially with litigators interested in finance."

#LegalTechDialogues: "On the question of establishing a refinery in East Africa, it would not be fair for me to simply say whether it is viable or not. The viability of a refinery depends on many factors beyond the idea itself. While value addition is important for economic development, projects such as refineries require scale, consistent volumes, and secure supply chains in order to succeed."

#LegalTechDialogues: "One reason countries and investors are increasingly interested in gold is because gold prices have remained relatively strong over the past several years. However, gold trading itself presents major challenges, especially around provenance and traceability. Today, buyers must prove the origin of the gold and demonstrate that it is not linked to conflict zones, illegal mining, or human rights abuses. That is why documentation and certification have become extremely important in the global gold trade."

#LegalTechDialogues: "Gold has always been used as an asset to back currencies. Instead of holding reserves purely in cash, countries often hold reserves in gold or other high-value minerals — though gold remains the most common. If you look at global gold usage today, nearly half of it is used in jewelry, a smaller percentage goes into technology and industry, while a significant share is held by central banks as reserve assets."

#LegalTechDialogues: "You may discover oil or minerals, but extracting them may not make economic sense. If production costs are too high or market prices are too low, the resource may remain underground despite being discovered. That is exactly what happened in Uganda for many years. Oil had been discovered long before, but it was not considered commercially viable at the time because global oil prices were too low to justify the cost of production."
