@turtlekiosk@strppngyngthng Doesn’t this presume that relationships are static? Eventually the contradiction between authenticity vs not has to be resolved and in doing so fundamentally changes the relationship. One can imagine that living authentically can synthesize a more authentic relationship.

Every campaign that competes against NYC-DSA, no matter their ideology, even if their candidate is an immigrant/child of immigrants, will eventually deploy lazy nativist arguments that quickly slip into attacks on immigrant New Yorkers. They have nothing else to offer voters.
