When an African American died at the hands of the police it wasn't just the officer who killed him it was the person who sent him too. MLK used this to motivate more people into peaceful protest. #MESelma18
Even though there were tensions at home Martin Luther King Jr kept going with his plan to go to selma even though his wife wasn't fully on board #MESelma18
When Martin Luther King Jr was talking to the president it seemed as though the president was trying to avoid what he was requesting because he didn't want to help him. What the president really wanted to talk about was what he thought was important #MESelma18
The speach that Martin Luther King Jr. Makes at the beginning of the movie is important because it sets the tone of the movie. The speech is about how so many African Americans are being discriminated upon.#MESelma18
@jaytiarora True, if if he would have been caught with that broken hand then he probably wouldn't have kept that job which meant he couldn't support his family
When Braddocks had to swallow his pride and ask for money shows his resolve to get back his children, I beliveve many people durring this time period had to do the same for similar reasons #MECinderellaMan17
I find it interesting to see Braddock and Mike talk about politics and unions, it seemed important because they were talking about stuff that affected them and it showed us how regular people thought about the government. #MECinderellaMan17
At the begining of the movie you could see how the great depression affected everyone in America, people who had everything lost it all#MECinderellaMan17
@BaekAllison I feel like he wanted to pass this amendment so that there wouldn't be any other conflicts involving slavery, but I also agree with you that he also did it becausd It's what was best for the country.
I think it's important to realize all that Lincoln went throught durring his presidency. He was under a lot of stress to end the war but he somehow found a way to pass the 13th amendment and end the war. You have to admire his resolve.#MELincoln17
It's really interesting for me to see that Lincoln had to decide whether to have peace and get rid of the 13th amendment or try to pass the 13th amendment and hope for the best #MELincoln17
It's kind of crazy to think that the people of the south thought they would achieve a peace treaty by making themselves a whole new country.#MELincoln17
The resolve that Lincoln had to make the 13th amendment to me is important because without it, who knows if we would have had it if Lincoln hadn't pressed for it.#MELincoln17
It's interesting to see how Lincoln had to struggle to convince people to vote for the 13th amendment. It's kind of got me thinking what would have happened if it wouldn't have passed? #MELincoln17
