Affordable mass just got smarter.
@DoWCTO (OUSW R&E) selected Shield AI to integrate Hivemind onto LUCAS, the @DeptofWar's new class of low-cost, one-way attack drones built to operate in large numbers.
“LUCAS is about delivering affordable mass, but mass without coordination is limited in value. Hivemind is the AI pilot that makes that mass intelligent. It’s the autonomy layer that enables teams of drones to sense, decide, and act at scale. We’re proud to partner with OUSW R&E to put this capability in the hands of the warfighter at the speed of relevance." – @brandontseng2

Defence innovation rarely emerges from a single lab, team or organisation. It is created at the intersection of operational need, scientific curiosity and industrial capability. When government, academia and industry work together, innovation accelerates – transforming ideas into real-world capability.
This philosophy sits at the heart of the Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research (ADSTAR) Summit, to be hosted by @DefenceScience (DSTG) in 📍 Adelaide from August 4 to 6, where 'Integrated Ecosystem' is one of four key themes.

Destroyer Enterprise receives distinguished CASG Engineering and Technical award ⚓
Australia’s frontline Hobart class destroyers now have enhanced naval strike capabilities thanks to outstanding efforts from the Destroyer Enterprise, which includes members from our Garden Island team in Sydney.
The new strike capabilities — Naval Strike Missile, Tomahawk Cruise Missile and Standard Missile 6 systems — met a rigorous timeline going from preliminary design to installation to successful onboard test firings in rapid succession.
Increasing lethality across the Hobart class, the achievement represents a significant uplift in capability and a major milestone for #AusNavy. 🚀
The Destroyer Enterprise has won the Gold Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) Group Commendation – Sustainment Team of the Year award for this incredible body of work. Congratulations to our team and our enterprise partners! 🎉🥳🎊
As the Capability Lifecycle Manager for the Hobart class, and as part of the broader Destroyer Enterprise, we deliver sustainment services ensuring these ships remain mission ready and capable when it matters most.
