@GerryHassan Was it "ordered" by the government as part of communication or independant? there are very strange and wrong articles trying to smear home education to push a dangerous bill atm. It's troubling.
SCHOOL CHOICE AND EDUCATION VOUCHERS🧵 : everyone’s focussed elsewhere but secondary school places have just been allocated. As ever we see the ridiculous situation where parents have little choice and places are allocated according to absurd bureaucratic catchment areas…
Parents - one of the first things you can do for your children's online safety is to teach them to never open their camera because an app asks them too. This is key. Of course, here in the UK, Ofcom is bizarrely *encouraging* Roblox to collect face scans of children. 1/
Proud moment: our air purifiers are being rolled out to more than 200 schools across London, UK. Schools should be among the first places to have cleaner air.
🚨NEW: The IDMerit data breach has been referred to the ICO’s office in the UK after potentially billions of ID records were stolen.
The scale of the breach is being assessed.
A lot of kids experience school as being humiliated every day. Even those of us for whom school was easy don't fully realize this. I was a straight-A student. School was never hard for me. Many like me went on to create curricula and policies without understanding what they were imposing on others.
For millions of kids, it's daily humiliation that causes lifelong damage. They internalize the message that they're stupid. Those scars last for decades. I've met people in their forties and fifties who still feel inadequate because of grades they got in middle school. I almost feel a bad conscience about it.
@johncox510456@CConcern Abusers are in state schools too, big taboo that such jobs attract this kind.
Simple thing would be to hear when children don't want to go...yet we blindly push for attendance and lack of choice and flexibility. Some children are unable to speak before feeling safe enough.
@InvictaRegina Imagine how many people it took to run a large school like that!
All of whom are now jobless.
Teachers, TAs, groundskeepers, cleaners, catering staff, administrators and multiple supplier who will have lost contracts etc…
@UKLabour your policies are disastrous.
@InvictaRegina It is a betrayal , the school survived two world wars and not this ! we are too sad to think of what might happen to the amazing facilities .
I once ran into a ninth grade girl who was clinically depressed. She hated school with every fiber of her being. She was in therapy. She was on medications. The whole apparatus of mental health support was deployed around her, trying to help her cope with an environment that was destroying her.
I told her: you don't actually need school. If you take AP courses on your own and pass the exams, you can get into college without setting foot in a high school building. She dropped out immediately, started studying for the AP Psychology exam, and stopped being depressed. No more medications. No more therapy. All she needed was permission to leave.
“Like many independent schools, we face a challenging economic environment. The imposition of VAT, increases in business rates and national insurance contributions have collectively had a significant impact across the whole sector.”

This morning 400 girls will be looking for another school. This is because @bphillipsonMP closed theirs - Alderly Edge. A school for girls closed by The Education Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities. That’s Labour!
The UK Government now has 34 contracts with Palantir, these are distributed across the NHS, the police forces, the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Defence, and Coventry City Council.
Every place you visit, every purchase you make, every digital interaction is being monitored.
That information is gathered to form a profile of you, your politics, your online activity, all your purchases, if you step out of line, your bank accounts will be frozen, your car will not function, you will be suspended from your job, access to benefits will be halted, you will be denied travel on public and commercial transport.
Palantir is run by people who openly fund administrations that protect paedophiles, war mongers, and fascists.
Labour and Tories are installing a Surveillance Capitalist State because that special relationship with the US under a corporate political model is more important than democracy itself.
