What a fantastic morning with 87 children from @gfs_stalbans visiting the #RiverVer to learn about the creatures in their local #chalkstream. We loved every minute and think they did too! Big thanks to Laura & Steph from @Chilternstreams and our volunteers for their top efforts!
Last week, Laura from @Chilternstreams came to visit Reception class. We learnt all about our local River Chess and how we can look after our environment. Well done Reception, you were really engaged in this visit!
Today, we took the brown trout that we have been rearing down to the River Chess, where we released them into the wild! It was fascinating to see the brown trouts’ natural habitat and Laura from @Chilternstreams also told us about the history of part of the Chess along Waterside!
NEW: More HS2 holes at Ruislip Rugby Club this morning. Locals very concerned. Last time HS2 said the pool appeared as the boring machine had drilled across a pre-existing borehole, causing foam to travel up and pool on the surface.

We then played a game which followed the life cycle of a brown trout and demonstrated its chances of survival in a chalk river - it got very competitive when it came to finding out which trout survived! #WatersideScience @Chilternstreams
New information boards are being installed on the #ChessValleyWalk over the next few days. They will appear from Chesham to Rickmansworth. Worth a walk at the weekend to see them all.
Today, we were visited by Laura from @Chilternstreams and given 50 brown trout alevins, which we will be rearing until their release in a few months! This is allowing us to see first-hand the life cycles that we have been learning about in science! #WatersideScience
We joined @Benfogle and a class of local children down at the River Chess to talk about how saving water can help protect our environment. 💧

💦It is World Water Week. There are 9 chalk streams in the #Chilterns, and we will highlight one each day, focusing on their threats. We would like to invite you to think about why you value the Chiltern Chalk Streams?💦
