📣 Calling @JamesCleverly + @theresecoffey: The UK has disproportionately placed marine protections in overseas territories – exposing its metropolitan waters to overfishing and exploitation. The UK must equally protect its maritime spaces. https://t.co/saLHHqE5Uj #Ocean30x30
@AmatgoAl@TomJChicago Don’t forget making locking up children and making them disappear, in addition to his associations, background, and comments in this regard.
It is difficult to see the connection between brain size & shape and maternal investment, because we mostly study birds (parental care only) or mammals (who invest in lactation) - sharks may have most diverse patterns of prepartum maternal investment across verts.
@shancalista Racism is taught. I didn’t even witness or know about it until I was in my teens. Even now it confuses me why people are racist. Unless someone is an arsehole or commited some horrible crime, there’s no reason to hate them. That isn’t determined by skin colour.
It's shark season in Southern California. @CSULBsharklab is ramping up research, tagging & virtual education programs. “We have to remind people they need to share the waves with the locals,” Dr. Chris Lowe said. “And the locals are really those sharks.” https://t.co/9w60CeLjuO
One of the whale sharks we tagged last Galapagos trip, September '19, is still pinging away. Finmount tags are a great option with big whale sharks. Previously we were using tethered tags, which predatory sharks kept eating. Basically, unbelievably expensive fishing lures. Sigh.
Loving this!!! https://t.co/blObfRaXaS need to big up #bluecarbon to help tackle #ClimateChange#bluecarbon needs to be on the tip of everyone’s tongue and should be top priority for the UK’s carbon neutral challenge 🐠
