Australia’s First Ubiquitin Summit is here! 🥳
📍Lorne, Victoria | 🗓️ 20–23 November 2025
Join us on the scenic coastline of Lorne for 4 days of cutting-edge ubiquitin science, featuring a fantastic lineup of international speakers covering all corners of the ubiquitin world
We hope this will be useful for the field. A plasmid for expressing the constitutively active HOIL-1 variant is available via @Addgene: https://t.co/M31OYoMvld
Excited to share our latest work, now out in @LSAjournal. We show that the E3 ligase HOIL-1 can ubiquitinate many different saccharides and describe a chemoenzymatic platform to generate ubiquitinated sugars as tools for studying non-proteinaceous ubiquitination.
The RBR E3 ligase HOIL-1 ubiquitinates Ser/Thr-residues and various disaccharides in vitro and can be used to generate ubiquitinated sugars as tools to study non-proteinaceous ubiquitination @LechtenbergLab@WEHI_research

World-first: researchers have discovered what protein #PINK1 looks like in humans and how it is activated, solving a decades-long mystery in the fight against #Parkinsonsdisease. The team hope to use the knowledge to find a drug to stop #Parkinsons.

We hope that our protocol will enable us and others to generate various ubiquitinated saccharides as tools to further develop the non-proteinaceous ubiquitin field. A plasmid for bacterial expression of the HOIL-1 variant will be available at @Addgene soon.
