Over the years, I’ve noticed that much of the professional development offered to teachers has focused solely on improving students’ reading skills. But what about their spelling and writing skills, too? Spelling interventions may actually be more effective at improving students’ reading skills than reading interventions alone (Shanahan, 2021).
We can’t let another pendulum swing and focus on decoding without discussing encoding, too!

@ERheinberger @NateJoseph19 An old version of DIBELS is what Acadiance is … somehow they bought a portion/edition of DIBELS or changed names or something… but they essentially have the same measures. At least when I used DIBELS, I was able to find the same passages and prompts later on, under “Acadiance”
