British actor Benedict Cumberbatch recited verses by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish at the “Together for Palestine” benefit concert in London.

Reading from On This Land There Are Reasons to Live, Cumberbatch declared: “This land, the lady of lands, the motherland of beginnings, the motherland of all ends. She was known as Palestine. She forever more will be known as Palestine.”

The concert raised more than £1.5 million ($2 million) for humanitarian aid in Gaza.
