The Bible forbids the State from exercising any jurisdiction in religious matters whatsoever. Civil government has no authority delegated to it beyond civil concerns. National apostasy on this point, above all others, will lead to national ruin.

The prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation primarily, but the topic is in other places in the Bible as well.

The pope believes that the Father and Son are role playing. He denies that Christ is God’s preincarnate begotten Son.

They do not believe the Bible when it speaks of God as an individual Person with body and parts.

They destroy God and make him a nonentity by claiming He is 3 Persons/Beings while being 1 Person/Being simultaneously.

They also deny that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ and instead make it a third separate whole Being equal to the Father and Son in every respect.

The antichrist occupies a position. It is to be in the place of Christ. That’s the sense of the word.

In a broader sense it is anyone that denies the Father and Son, or that Jesus is come in the flesh (present tense), is antichrist according to John.

In prophecy, the antichrist refers to the pope of Rome.

Salvation by grace through faith (without works) is the only thing that can deliver from condemnation.

When it comes to retaining our justification, active, living faith claims God’s promises and brings forth fruit in obedience. On the flip side, every act of disobedience is proceeded from a lack of faith.

“Whatsoever is not of faith is sin”
“Without faith it is impossible to please God”

It is not a contradiction, nor is it against the
doctrine of “faith alone” that the free gift of salvation without any work on our part
is given with the condition that we go and sin no more.

This is in complete harmony with Sola Fide.

Perfect sanctification can’t save you. It can only keep you from being condemned going forward after repentance. And sanctification requires constant faith and dependence upon God. You can’t keep the law in your own strength.

Your works can’t atone for your sins. Sin requires the death penalty.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Only the blood of Jesus Christ can blot your sins out of the books of heaven. Anyone teaching otherwise is accursed like Paul says.

Unrepentant evil works will keep us out of heaven, and good works will produce a bigger reward. Notwithstanding, works cannot merit salvation and the blotting out of sins.

Here is where papists disagree. They do believe that human works merit salvation. And they often require evil works like confessionals, penances, praying to the dead, which they believe help pave the way for justification.

The scope of the verse is broad. When the inspired idea was put into words doesn’t change this fact.

I understand that this verse touches on Esau’s posterity.

Furthermore, it speaks largely to our own time, for the ancient prophets wrote more for our time than their own. Paul says, all these things happened as ensembles, and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world has come.
