@BingAurelius@zerohedge It’s already an oligopoly — 99% of us are using one or more of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and SpaceX. Maybe it cements the oligopoly, sure, but in this case doesn’t create it.
@DriveTeslaca Even as someone who has benefitted from the EV rebate in the past, I really don’t like this policy. First, I don’t think we should be paying people $5000 to buy $50,000 cars. Second, it distorts the gap between the trims and will push some people to buy the wrong trim.
@mhmck@Laa_Dee_Daaa This may be all true but as much as it pains me, we (Canada) should take up Trump’s offer to join the US before the US develops AGI/ASI and becomes even more powerful than it already is.
@CGWeatherHub I found you from your great Annoying Myth of Canadian Superiority thread.
This take is wrong. EVs are great in the winter for daily driving. They warm up, get nice and toasty and can largely defrost themselves. The downside is range reduction in cold - bad for distance driving.
@cafreeland Bullshit we do. Ukraine joining NATO was a terrible idea and this horrible war could have been avoided if that stupid idea had been dropped.
@benjamincowen Offer a 1:1 exchange ratio — a pretty normal 40% control premium over the ‘unaffected’ early Nov FX rate — and you’d get a lot of Yes votes in a referendum. Including mine maybe.
@lootlogic@JuliusRuechel Interesting post. Blackberry is a good example of this. The hockey thing was a good way to get him to take his eye off the smartphone ball.
But you are not correct on the pipelines. US NGO funded, sure, but KXL was successfully protested and TMX was not.
