The three innocent Kuki-Zo civilians who were injured during the attack on Leilon Vaiphei by the Tangkhul faction of NSCN-IM and its alleged associates, ZUF-Kamson, were subsequently transferred to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) by the Good Samaritan Indian Army, in accordance with Manipur Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Khemchand @YKhemchandSingh’s stated commitment to a peace initiative.

Regrettably, the Manipur government and RIMS authorities were unable to ensure their safety from the Meitei-Naga mob. Consequently, the Good Samaritan Indian Army and Assam Rifles were compelled to return them to Churachandpur District Hospital for further treatment.

In view of these circumstances, I wish to bring to your kind attention that coexistence with these two communities is no longer tenable. Should injured, innocent civilians remain unsafe and unable to receive treatment despite the Manipur government’s commitments, then the establishment of a Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with Legislature for the Kuki-Zo community must be declared without delay to ensure a peaceful resolution in the region.

WHO DREW THE FIRST BLOOD? WHY WILL THE KUKI-ZO COMMUNITY BE ON THE RECEIVING END?

It has been generally presumed that the Tangkhul faction of the NSCN-IM and its mouthpiece, KHANUITHOT-KHON, confine their influence to various civil society organization platforms and certain elected MLAs. This presumption was incorrect and completely wrong.

Regrettably, the situation has deteriorated further following Khanuithot-Khon’s disclosure alleging that certain churches have sponsored an illegal terrorist training center purportedly established to train individuals to kill innocent, unarmed civilians. The Mao Baptist Churches Association is among those alleged to be involved in this Tangkhul NSCN-IM bloodthirsty campaign against all mankind, rather than the divine love for all that is mentioned in Holy Scripture. This disclosure came in the aftermath of the killing of three unarmed Kuki-Zo clergymen: Rev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, and Pastor Paogoulun Sitlhou, who were mercilessly ambushed and murdered in cold blood.

In times of discontent, when diplomatic channels have been exhausted and mutual trust among political actors has eroded, Church Organizations remain the final recourse. Under the present circumstances, Church Councils have consequently become a significant factor.

🚨SELECTIVE AMNESIA:
Tracing the Genesis of the Tangkhul-Kuki Hostage Crisis.

■​The Catalyst: The First Abduction.
March 11, 2026: The vicious cycle of abduction & retaliatory abduction was set in motion when the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM Terrorists abducted two Kuki civilians, Thangboi &Thengin while they were repairing their village water pipeline in Ukhrul.
In a direct retaliatory response aimed at securing their release, the Kukis detained 21 Tangkhul individuals.

■​The Turning Point: Execution of Hostages.
Who spilled the first blood?
The first blood was spilled on March 11 when the Tangkhul led NSCN-IM Terrorists brutally tortured & executed the two Kuki hostages.

■​The Contrast in Captivity:
Acting on assurances of safety from Tangkhul CSOs & the Manipur Govt, the Kukis demonstrated a profound commitment to humanity & restraint, actively choosing de-escalation promptly released all 21 captives in the pursuit of Peace.

■The following day, however, the mutilated, disfigured & lifeless bodies of the two Kuki hostages were discovered.

🚨​The Aftermath: Divergent Responses to the tragedy:
The Kuki Response: Kuki CSOs immediately issued widespread condolences, condemned the killing of 6 Manipur Nagas & demanded a fair, impartial investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

​The Tangkhul Response: Conversely, Tangkhul CSOs, including the TKL & UNC stormed the CM's office following the Manipur Govt's decision to hand over the kidnapping & murder case of the two kukis to the NIA. The Tangkhul CSOs expressed "strong reservation over the NIA handover" & demanded the immediate withdrawal of the NIA investigation into the barbaric killings.

■To make matters even more repulsive, even before the Mutilated corpses of the victims could be recovered & their families given the most basic dignity of grief & a moment to mourn, the Tangkhul CSO Khanuithot Khon issued a Chilling "Quit Notice" to the bereaved families, warning them that they would suffer the same brutal fate as their murdered husbands & fathers if they do not comply.

■March 20, 2026: In the official directive to NIA, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Counter Terrorism & Counter Radicalization Division) explicitly said, "the Central Government is of the Opinion that NSCN-IM, a TERRORIST Gang" perpetrated the attack to deliberately "Strike Terror & panic in the minds of people."
The MHA issued an order declaring the incident a "scheduled offence" with "national ramifications" & mandated the NIA to assume full control of the investigation to uncover the broader conspiracy.
This shifts the case of kidnapping and murder of Thengin & Thangboimang from a local law-and-order into the realm of national security & terrorism.

■March 17, 2026: SP Ukhrul (Babitarani Swain, IPS) sends a progress report to the DGP of Manipur. The investigation officially establishes that the NSCN-IM planned & executed the kidnapping, attack & Murders of the two Kukis.

🚨 True reconciliation cannot be achieved through selective amnesia. The Kukis set the standard for Mercy & Humanity but the Tangkhuls redefined the standard for Brutality & Savagery.
Let History records the truth: The bloody & destructive precedent was set entirely by the Tangkhuls, not the Kukis!

Strong Condemnation of the Attack on #Loibol Khulen Village

We strongly condemn the brutal attack carried out in Loibol Khulen Kuki Village under Bungte Chiru Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District, in the early hours of this morning by suspected ZUF-K militants. This senseless act of violence has claimed the lives of three innocent villagers, including an elderly woman, and left seven homes reduced to ashes.

The killing of innocent civilians and the destruction of their homes is an inhumane act that violates every principle of humanity and justice. Families who were peacefully living in their village have now been left devastated, grieving the loss of their loved ones and struggling to cope with the destruction of their properties.

We call upon the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and all concerned security agencies to immediately investigate this heinous incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure the safety and security of vulnerable villages. The lives of innocent civilians must never become targets of armed violence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic attack. We stand in solidarity with the people of Loibol Khulen and demand justice for the victims. Those responsible must be identified, arrested, and punished according to the law.
