According to Andrew Weissmann, Blanche using sleight of hand; they’re not killing the deal. Trump still gets $1.776 billion. He still gets a sweeping civil liability shield. They only removed the J6 slush fund piece. Same jackpot. Less scrutiny. Worse than before.

With majority-Black voting districts being eliminated across the country, now is the time to recognize that none of us can afford to stay politically asleep, Anneshia Hardy writes.

This is the closest thing to a Dred Scott era decision I've seen from the SCOTUS in my lifetime.
Even 2 Trump appointees and a Clinton appointee unanimously found intentional racial discrimination in the 2023 Alabama map, yet the majority of SCOTUS by 6-3 moved the goalposts and dramatically narrowed protections Congress enacted through the Voting Rights Act, and reaffirmed over and over, since it was originally enacted.

Sotomayor, joined by Kagan and Jackson, issues a 17-page dissent to the 4-page order:
"[J]ust as Alabama doubled down on racial discrimination, the Court today doubles down on chaos."
1. Real Change PAC, a super PAC that purports to be "committed to progressive values," has spent millions of dollars in Democratic primaries.
It is actually a Republican front closely tied to House Republican leadership.
An email completely exposed the dirty tricks operation.
The sharp rise in youth inactivity since the pandemic corresponds very closely to the deterioration in young people’s health since 2019.
In 2019, 14 per cent of 18-24-year-olds said they had a long-term health condition
which limits their activity; by 2025 this had risen to 21 per cent.
