🚩Why is Ron DeSantis trying to silence the voice of young people?

“The show-me-your-papers provisions will apply to new voters registering to vote for the first time and to existing voters who update their registration because of a name, address or party change — or who get tagged by state officials in Tallahassee as “potentially ineligible” to vote.

But House Bill 991 — which state Republican leaders are branding as “Florida’s SAVE Act,” in homage to the federal legislation President Donald Trump has called for in Congress — goes well beyond issues of citizenship.

Another part of the bill reduces the types of photo IDs that already-registered voters can show when they arrive at at their polling place to vote.

College and university students, for instance, will no longer be permitted to use their student IDs.

The ban extends to IDs issued by public colleges and universities — even though such schools are, obviously, run by the state of Florida.

In fact, under the new law, Florida will now permit voters to use any photo ID card issued by any government agency. Unless, that is, the agency happens to be an educational institution”
