@realDrTT Luke 22:35-37. “And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one!” 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
You have a God given right to protect yourself.
@BardofLagrandil@LargeInStature_@jkdavis89@ImprecatoryOne By that logic, Abraham and Isaac are one being since a singular name is used for both of them in Gen 48:16
In both cases, "name" is used to reference shared authority. Jesus in the verse right before yours talks about the authority that was GIVEN to him by the Father(his God)
@wstrnfort@BasedMikeLee When did He say that? Is that in the Bible?
Is the Bible clear on all doctrine? If so, why did the emperor have to convene the councils to ‘settle’ the debates on the nature of God and His son Jesus Christ?
@wstrnfort@BasedMikeLee That’s a worse point.., God’s not dead. God’s plan through all ages has been to call men to lead the people. He never said He’d stop communicating. Amos 3:7.
@wstrnfort@BasedMikeLee Was the bible compiled when that was written? Was Revelation the last written book? It says the exact same thing in Deuteronomy, so should we throw out everything after that?
Clearly referring to adding to the book of Revelation.
@jedi_medic217@BasedMikeLee The Bible talks of prophets in the last days. Christ didn’t say there would be no prophets, he said by their fruits ye shall know them. What do you anticipate these latter day prophets will be like, how will we recognize them, what fruits?
@HistoryNut_1945 @PeacemakingSt@HollandJeffreyR Are you suggesting polygamy is not biblical, and not, at times, condoned or mandated by Him?
Lots of folks said the same and lots of bad things about Gods prior prophets, doesn’t mean it’s true.
@HistoryNut_1945 @PeacemakingSt@HollandJeffreyR The Catholic Church said marriage to 12 year olds was okay until 1917 when they upped the age to 14. For almost all of history 12-15 was the typical age for marriage. So by what standard, today or 200 years ago?
@EvidenceOfFaith@aidannonx Isaiah clearly meant to assert the supremacy, authority, and superiority of Yahweh over not only over false idols but over all else, including real gods.
Isaiah 47:8-10 says the exact same thing about the city of Babylon- clearly other cities existed.
@EvidenceOfFaith@ThoughtfulSaint These are clearly meant to assert the supremacy, authority, and superiority of Yahweh over not only over false idols but over all else, including real gods.
Isaiah 47:8-10 says the for the city of Babylon. Clearly there existed other cities.
Read your bible again.
@LDSBoomstick Great read. Might I also recommend “The American Story” by David Barton, “The Covenant” by Timmothy Ballard, “The 5000 Year Leap” by Cleon Skouson, and “America’s Destiny” by Tad R Callister - That would make an epic summer of reading to celebrate 250 years :)
@AuntSuziQuilts@LukeFHan I highly recommend “The Covenant” by Timmothy Ballard. Everything by David Barton is also great. “The 5000 Year Leap” and others by Cleon Skousen.
