The Dawn Service at Camp Sovereignty this morning commemorated The Day of Mourning.
Here’s Yorta Yorta Elder Aunty Pam Pederson placing a wreath at the memorial where the repatriated remains of 38 First People are laid to rest.
Let's add this to performance measures across the country. Cultural safety is important to ALL people! It's just that when you are part of the dominant cultural group, you are always culturally safe so you don't realise what an issue it is when you're not.
If you as a white person are asked to speak on behalf of Aboriginal women, think about ceding the space. Shame @theprojecttv I'm sure many Aboriginal women would have been able to tell you how unsafe most workplaces are for us
Drawing on my old people for strength tonight. I see myself in the image of these two strong Blak women and it gives me perspective… they did it tougher than I ever will, so that I wouldn’t have to.

My mum is 82 & in the generation of not being a citizen of her own country was inconsolable watching Q&A last night. The trauma of her treatment made bearable by the idea things are getting better. The treatment of Stan Grant told her they aren’t. Many of us are feeling triggered today.
Well said Trace. Those who prioritise their right to criticise or “boo” over the right of Mob to feel culturally safe are not only being racist, but are bullies too. #checkyourprivilege
Cue the “we don’t like Stan Grant because he’s a bad host, nothing to do with racism”
Akin to “we don’t like Adam Goodes as a footy player, nothing to do with racism”
When ppl are in pain & tell you the origin of that pain is racism; and
you dismiss or deny that pain, it reveals who you truly are.
Please support the Neivandt family in honour of my gorgeous friend Jessica, a 39yo mother and wife who is in the final stages of a long battle with breast cancer.
Jess will leave behind husband Luke and her 3 beautiful boys; Cooper 10, Brodie 8 and Sam 7. https://t.co/xiHYVqlPTz
All Australian students should get living allowances regardless of their families’ wealth because the benefits would outweigh the costs, argue @susa_goodwin and @AriadneVromen

‘If the National Agreement on Closing the Gap isn’t on your desk, if you can’t rattle off the Priority Reforms, if your agency hasn’t resourced it - you need to lean in, and quickly….we are now in a new way of operating’ @NACCHOChair tells #FirstPeoplesToAllPeoples2023
