$IONQ AstraZeneca and IonQ presented at the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

The foundation controls Novo Nordisk, now branded Novo, through Novo Holdings, with about 28% of the shares and 77% of the votes at the end of 2025. On 4 September, the foundation said it has committed more than DKK 2.9 billion (€390 million) to quantum technology.

The Nordic Quantum Life Science Roundtable met there on September. Anders Broo, Senior CMC Project Leader in Pharmaceutical Sciences at AstraZeneca, presented the work his company did with IonQ, AWS and NVIDIA. Evgeny Epifanovsky, Director of Applications at IonQ, presented it too.

It models one step of a nickel-catalysed reaction used in drug development, on IonQ's Forte quantum computer and NVIDIA GPUs on AWS.

Physical Review Research published the paper on 15 July, after peer review. Broo is one of its authors.
