His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (@Pontifex), I condemn the insult to Your Excellency on behalf of the great nation of Iran, and declare that the desecration of Jesus, the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable to any free person. I wish you glory by Allah.
As we proceed to *Islamabad Talks*, I wish to extend our deepest and sincere gratitude to our brotherly countries People’s Republic of China, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Republic of Türkiye, Arab Republic of Egypt and State of Qatar for extending invaluable and all out support towards reaching the ceasefire and giving peaceful diplomatic efforts a chance to seek a comprehensive and conclusive end to the conflict.
I would also like to deeply appreciate and thank our brotherly countries of Gulf Cooperation Council, whose consistent support and commitment to peace and stability in the region remains quintessential for our efforts.
The leadership of all our brotherly countries and United States of America demonstrated exceptional strategic foresight, sagacity and patience in giving peace a chance.
I also thank all our partners and friends across the globe who have reached out and acknowledged Pakistan’s sincere efforts for the global peace.
Let us all work together to forge a lasting peace in the region and beyond!
I warmly commend Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their exceptional diplomatic efforts in averting a major global crisis and securing Iran - U.S. ceasefire. I also applaud the leadership of Iran and the United States for choosing peace and statesmanship. May this be a meaningful step toward lasting global stability.
I had a warm and substantive conversation with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, this afternoon.
I conveyed my deep appreciation for the wisdom and sagacity of the Iranian leadership in accepting Pakistan’s offer to host peace talks in Islamabad later this week to work jointly for the return of peace to the region.
President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming negotiations and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts, while conveying his best wishes for the people of Pakistan.
Pakistan remains committed to working closely with all its friends and partners to advance peace and stability in the region and beyond.
@drpezeshkian
Apart from the idiocy of US journalists who call their President POTUS being shocked that Pakistanis might refer to their PM as PM of Pakistan, the grammar & wording of that post is so clearly Pakistani officialspeak. But well done on your scoop Ryan, real rigorous stuff.
This is exactly how the PM's staff would write the draft. When the US President enters to address the Press he is addressed as the US President by his staff, not as Our President. Are you a journalist?
