A beautiful article about the power of our everyday rituals. Interesting that they bring us together and can create closeness. We all have them, and doing these things with intention have some very positive effects.
Burnaby students spend some time putting smiles on our neighbours’ faces with cards made with love by elementary and @bnss high school students.
Thank you to @iakfoundationca for supporting these students’ intentional acts of kindness!
Such a good day today as @BNSS Leaders and Mentors performed for seniors at the Swedish Canadian Rest Home in Burnaby.
Let’s remember how many amazing teens are out there doing good things and making a positive impact in their communities. Because there are a LOT. #bced

Yes! Giving @AdamMGrant makes life feel meaningful & satisfying & pos. emotions that result, beget ⬆️ positive emotions. Getting what we give, comes to mind, too: we put out pos. , caring energy, & that comes back to us. Imagine the collective impact of giving … @MarcelShwantes
Talking to strangers = 👍 It often goes better than we think, & then we tend to do it more. I like to imagine - if more did this, we’d all be connecting, then we’d all build understanding, then we’d all have empathy… & then, ⬆️love & fewer conflicts. Go talk to a stranger!
Here's what happened when researchers asked people to go out in the world and make small talk—and how talking to strangers can improve well-being and help with feelings of awkwardness. https://t.co/zXvVaoOnf0
As tchr I saw daily the skills built through play: prob- solving, socializing, oral lang., creativity, exec. functioning, empathy, cooperation, self-concept…. These all help developing rdg. & math skills, too. Fight for play! Thx @DrJeanforkids GREAT ARTICLE #teachers#parents
So many of us will go to the ends of the Earth to make sure those around us are getting what they need, especially those of us in helping professions, like #teaching#nursing#coaching Why do we not do that for ourselves?
