What happened to Ethernode?
Maciej and I started Ethernode in 2018 to develop tools that simplify running nodes for evm blockchain networks. We hold that the chief value proposition of public “decentralized” is minimizing dependencies on trusted 3rd parties.

@naval@zooko@anothervariable I spoke about some of the challenges of realizing core blockchain value propositions within legacy network infrastructure. https://t.co/rZIES3kn0E
Solutions for the legacy choke points need to be considered and implemented. @AltheaNetwork is doing excellent work in this area.
@naval@zooko My good friend and oft co-founder @anothervariable had a Cardano stake pool running on his stock android phone a year ago.
There are multiple angles and likely viable solutions to mobile-blockchain integration with different security/resource compromise.

A couple of years ago I gave a presentation illustrating infrastructure vulnerabilities that compromise efforts to create decentralized systems and platforms.
Seems relevant these days.

Kind crazy to see the progression of people finally recognizing the need for censorship resistant decentralized services.
"We need decentralized platforms! Wait, and hosting. And, payment processing? DNS too?? And the ISPs can still pull our plug at will???"
🧑🍳Receipe for a great dev tool:
- 🤏pinch of @getpostman
- 🕺dab of #GraphQL playground
- ✨sprinkle of some @SwaggerHub
- 🧂Seasoned to taste with react/materialui and monaco
- 🍜Combine with @open_rpc service discovery
->🥮Voila! Try the results: https://t.co/z0CG7SJHmv

Hello everyone, here is a quick updated on our #cardano-node 1.18.0 running on my Android phone. The whole #Cardano mainnet is now synced on my daily use phone and processing TXs along with my relay and core node for Bakon(BKN) stake pool. :)

It's not our first rodeo at https://t.co/sYJF1XTOLF taking @InputOutputHK software and pushing it to its limits on low powered SBC hardware like mobile phones or raspPI.
In 2019 using the mantis node on a small Rock64 device syncing ETC Chain.

Got several DMs asking about the #Cardano node 1.18.0 running on my Android device. So here is a short video I made.
This is on a Stock Razer Phone 2 Android 9, no root or *Jail Breaking* for our iOS friends hehe.
The Operators of Bakon #Cardano pool, went on a adventure today, to get the #Cardano 1.18.0 node running on stock no root Android device and succeeded . :)
@anothervariable with a slick setup syncing a #Cardano node on a stock razer phone 2 with a parallel installation of Debian subsystems.
Stay tuned, he'll show you how it's done.
@IOHK_Charles
100% stock Razer Phone 2 running Android 9 no root, just syncing a rely node for now, can we go for firett minted block on a stock everyday Android Device??? Stay tuned.
Our experience with Labs, especially post cohort one, convinced us to divert our efforts to less compromised endeavors.
We've always supported the effort that is ethereum classic and the principles for which it stands.
We'll be on the call.
To be perfectly frank, if no treasury happens my time with $etc is done. ETC could lead and do real innovation, not just clone repos and pray for eth2. I'll always have a place for it in my heart, but i can't keep attaching my name to a failed ecosystem that just props up DFG
Bakon(BKN) pool has launched a new twitter, to make it easier to keep up with our latest updates.
Bakon pool has sizzled into Epoch 209 without a hitch. Currently we're bringing more relay nodes online, to account for restart times to refresh our nodes topology.
