GPS, as amazing as it is, is not accurate enough and can be spoofed and hacked.
Xona is the next generation navigational system that solves these problems and more. Exciting to see a space startup liftoff! Proud 1517 was the first money in.
Go Xona, Go, Go, Go 🚀 🛰️
SpaceX successfully launched 70 satellites in one go, with the Xona Pulsar-0 bottom right. It is pioneering low-orbit GPS, of keen interest to the government as 150x power makes it harder to jam or spoof & much more precise:

One thing that isn’t explored enough: men and women, who used to meet and fall in love before and/or without filtering or selecting so strictly for political “compatibility”, as many are doing now, used to marry people with much more divergent views—and they would naturally moderate one another during the course of their marriage. In short, ideologically diverse marriages helped ensure that we don’t all turn into intolerant assholes.
AI opportunity is hyped but probably appropriately rated.
Opportunity to rebuild the world’s infrastructure better is getting more hyped but still deeply underrated.
@fahdananta In your last AMA, you said mining, oil & energy were the highest potential sectors in Canada. Any specific subsectors/startups to call out?

I’m super excited to announce an event that @gabrielsundaram and I have been working on for the last four months.
On Thursday January 23, we will be holding a community-led gathering at HEC downtown. It will feature @harleyf President of @Shopify.
We are partnering with @labaseHEC as well as @mcgillvc who are working tirelessly on the project with us. (@NaureenAhm, @AaronAnandji, @CorboliouTheo)
North Star is meant to inspire founders & entrepreneurs that will hear from their peers on stage. Our aspiration is to create something that will bring real value in the content delivered (not just the networking). If you can’t make it, we will be recording the session as a live Tech Poutine podcast with @eleonorejarry and @ianmtl.
Registration will open soon. Stay tuned!
I’m still VERY long on 🇨🇦, but for real we gotta get our sh*t together as a country.
We can’t just stand on our past performance. We need to requalify every damn day for our place on the global stage.
Time to build.

Ok, let’s do this.
Unlike lame-ass poll-based Monte Carlos, these will update throughout the day and night based on state-by-state prediction market fluctuations.
You can close the tab, but you will always come back.

There’s a common meme in Silicon Valley that the measure of a man is how quickly he changes his mind with new data, or his ability to change a long-held view when presented with evidence that runs contrary.
There’s reason we prize the data readers in company building— people who can dispassionately kill a product because their customer doesn’t want it or take hard feedback and then take action on it often do better in business.
But I’ve come to admire the type they disparage: people who’ve held the same belief since their youth and continue to believe it, in many cases for decades. The reason I admire it is if you’re consistent in your belief, you’re far more likely to have held that belief when it was unpopular, or your crowd of friends likely changed over decades and you didn’t change despite their evolution.
Anyone can change with “new data” and that new data is often the wisdom of the crowd. Common knowledge. Everyone knowing something. But the people who haven’t changed will at some point be alone in their belief, and that strength of conviction is much more uncommon than data reading.
Given me conviction and belief over data reading any day. It’s rare in most domains.
