I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

Apple might be right.

There's no money in llm itself.

OpenAI and Anthropic are in pure competition with Chinese labs in race to the bottom of price while ever more difficult effort to improve the models.

Then there's Apple sitting back and letting billions and billions roll in doing nothing.

And when the time comes, Apple can rebrand the llm layer with some Chinese frontier lab's open sourced llm calling it Apple Intelligence and call it the most privacy focused AI there is. People will pay for monthly subscription for 9.99 because it's integrated with iOS at OS level and apps will develop around it.

Do nothing and win. The apple way.

What if unlimited intelligence changes nothing

Getting the feeling that companies now are not as bullish or as aggressive about AI as they were a few months ago.

Looks like the following things have compounded enough and have gone out of bounds.

- unnecessarily sloppy code
- unreliability in systems
- rising token costs
- agents breaking outside happy paths
- products not delivering enough value

Markets being this volatile and engineers not caring enough about systems is not helping either.

Companies might be realizing that AI is a great assistant and aid, and that the narrative around it replacing "everything" was an oversell and an overestimation.

Or maybe I am reading it all wrong :)

If the Court has clarified that he is not under detention, then under what authority is this happening?
In an enlightened democracy, is the role of the police to protect citizens and uphold the law, or to control citizens on behalf of those in power?
These are questions every Indian should be asking.
