A great read about the quiet revolution happening among Black families. Urban public school systems are guilty of a moral failure to educate Black and brown children. Taking matters in their own hands, homeschooling is a good bet. Learn the reasons why. #BlackFAMILY
"Perceived unintelligence manifests in well-intentioned woke ideology. Black parents are faced w/ schools that are lowering standards for their children. Efforts to lower standards to achieve equity are based, broadly speaking, in CRT."

This is interesting. Maturity emerges from reading about greatness not actions of good character? Can you give us a list of who you think great men and women were? #classicaleducation
One reason classical education produces more mature young people is because it introduces them to greatness early.
Students spend years around saints, philosophers, statesmen, poets, generals, and missionaries.
They grow up reading about courage, sacrifice, honor, discipline, truth.
Modern education tries to protect students from greatness because greatness creates objective standards. But young people desperately want standards.
They want something higher than themselves to admire and live up to.
Christian parents: In addition to the Bible, what else have you read to your boys to inspire them to become men of character and virtue?
Recommendations appreciated!
The average student graduates after 12 years of schooling and still cannot answer the most important questions in life.
What is a good man?
What is justice?
What is worth sacrificing for?
What is beauty?
What is truth?
What is the purpose of life?
Classical education begins with the assumption that any education failing to address these questions is not really education at all.
I can’t stop thinking about this piece on @60Minutes Inside his approach is an answer to many challenges in education today. I’m curious to learn how others are thinking about this.
Piano teacher Payam Khastkhodaei skips the classical approach and classical songs. Instead, he wants students to play at the piano, literally. https://t.co/IVXBll9MJT
Many schools I observe are victims of “micro” thinking and a lack of understanding that you have to be an entrepreneur. To be successful, you need a clear vision, a conservative business plan and market and validation or is there a market for your idea.
Micro school founders:
Low enrollment is almost never the market, the economy, or “bad timing.”
It’s a founder problem or a boundaries problem.
Believe in your mission, & hold lines.
Clear standards attract committed families. Comfort zones don’t.
Own it. Tighten up. Build.
Starting in 2027, taxpayers can receive a 100 percent federal tax credit up to $1,700 for contributions to scholarship granting organizations.

Why would I have an email list. No need to be cynical. Let’s work together to reach every family. They need to know how high the stakes are. #schoolchoiceAZ
I work with boys under 18 as an educator and boys’ school founder. I know well how boys live, what their distractions are and what ambitions light them on fire. I can say that gambling or sports betting is not one of them. If it were, I would have an easier time teaching game theory.
Gambling companies spend billions targeting boys under 18 because they know it works. They’re grooming the next generation of problem gamblers and boys deserve protection from industries trying to exploit them
There are 102,000 AZ families receiving ESA’s. That’s a gift to grassroots organizers. We need a strategy to reach those families. They need to be made aware that the right to ESA’s is under threat.
Thanks for your leadership @ClarkRimsza I only wish more parents and families abd school leaders would get engaged. We have only a few weeks to build an army.
Wow. This is a must listen. A love story really between Father and son. Make time for this one. And the secret gift included is amazing. https://t.co/bO3RrE0sOE
20 years ago, all classroom readings were from books, practice and tests were on paper, writing happened with a pencil, examples were on whiteboards
We can, just, go back to that.
A big wow. I hear she was lobbied heavily and could see the popular support for school choice. Maybe the blue wall is breaking.@iamwesmoore@GovernorHobbs
BREAKING: New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced she will opt in to Trump's new school choice program.
She is the second Democrat Governor to announce they will opt in.
That makes 30 states so far.
These are two different efforts to restrict school choice, plain and simple. And they’re being sold with misinformation to get signatures.
The truth: More than 100,000 Arizona families are using ESAs right now. These initiatives would make it harder—or impossible—for many of them to keep doing it.
The right answer is simple: #DeclineToSign.
