We use Kukizo as an inclusive term, but Kukizos should be tolerant to a differing point of view if we are to maintain our unity & brotherhood. The article is written by a scholar who probably hasn't experienced the "Unity Forged" by our massacre as "Kukis" by Meiteis as he is based in the USA, probably someone who has trauma of 1997 conflict. We have to acknowledge the problem. But we have to understand that we don't have the luxury of bickering over names midway in the fight for our survival. We used Kukizo thinking it includes us all while respecting our attachment to our internal nomenclatures such as Zomi, Hmar, Thadou etc., let it remain. However, we must respect voices which doesn't echo our own. TROLLING @hoihnu isn't justified. It proves the Author right!
We have very few media professionals in our community who have personally influenced the Indian media fraternity to talk about our pain & cover our deaths in the initial days of media blackout. They may deserve our understanding & journalists also have the right to differ from the common stance. She has the right to a point of view. I, for one, will stick to Kukizo as a unifying term & with tolerance urge all Zofate who has a different point of view to accept this in the context of Manipur ethnic pogrom against our people. What does it matter whether you called yourselves Zomi, Hmar, Kuki, Thadou, Lushai/Mizo, for the Meiteis we are Kukis who should be eliminated like cockroaches (Remember Rwanda).
Respect the various nomenclatures after the splintering of "Any Kuki Tribes" in 1956 into various tribes such as Thadou, Paite, Zou & the emerging Zomi if we really meant we are inclusive and use "Kuki" to include all Zofate in Manipur. Only love, respect & understanding each other perspective will bring Unity, strengthen our fraternal bond, and take us closer to our shared goal.
When a Kuki say Kuki, he includes all who goes by Chin, Mizo, Zomi, Hmar, he means all were and are still one people, one blood. The Author insinuation of exclusivity is misplaced.
When a Zomi say Zomi, he thinks he in inclusive & he considers all Chin,Kuki, Mizo etc as brothers from one progenitor "Zo".
The same is true when Mizo says we are all Mizos, & so I think is with Chins. Historical writings & naunces has divided us but our blood & shared culture has tied us to each other & on this basis we can overcome all divisions.
When we, in our thinking & understanding, does not exclude any Zofate based on nomenclature, the moment we talk of nomenclature we are ready to kill our own. The time for settling this will come, for now let us focus on what is important: our united stand against forces hell-bent on eliminating our very existence.
While on my visit to Mizoram CM, I had a vision of a song that has to potential to unite us all.
Let a Mizo say I am Zomi, Chin, Kuki; for we all are one
Let a Zomi say I am Kuki, Chin, Mizo, for we are Zofate
Let a Kuki say I am Zomi, Mizo, Chin, for our history is one
Then our words, hearts, minds will unite as one.
Today I am a Kuki, but when I meet my blood who is a Mizo, I will tell him I am a Mizo, a Chin we are Chins & a Zomi, I am your own, maybe 30 minutes into talking I will tell him what we, Kukis, mean when we say "We are all Kukis". I will tell him we meant the same as when you say "We are all Mizos" & the same is true for Zomi.
The 1997 peace agreement wasn't a rejection of Kuki or Zomi, it was for showing respect & accommodation.
Let it be so.

The 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 paints a dire picture, alleging that 𝟗𝟎𝟎 𝐊𝐮𝐤𝐢 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 from Myanmar are poised to unleash coordinated attacks on multiple locations across Manipur. In response, enhanced security measures were swiftly put in place following verification on Thursday.

However, a shadow of doubt looms large over this 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 as it emanates from Chief Minister #NBirenSingh's Office. The Letter's authenticity is shrouded in uncertainty, considering the Office's disturbing track record of leveling unfounded allegations against the #Kuki community since May 3, 2023.

The #Kukis have been subjected to a litany of baseless accusations, including the stigmatizing label of "illegal immigrants" and the damaging slur of "narco-terrorists," alongside other scurrilous claims. Furthermore, the CM's Office stands implicated in a series of reprehensible acts, such as the deliberate marking of #Kuki Homes in Imphal—a chilling echo of sinister intentions. All forms of heinous crimes and violence, including r@pe and desecration of bodies, have been inflicted upon innocent #Kuki Women, and brazen attempts have been made on the life of a #Kuki Ministers. The 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐔𝐃𝐈𝐎 𝐓𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐒 of CM #NBirenSingh's own voice expose his startling complicity in masterminding all these crimes during this ongoing violence and atrocities.

These disturbing revelations include the brazen looting of over 𝟔,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐬 and 𝟔𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 from the State Armory and the shocking patronage of radicalized #ArambaiTenggol Militants. These actions cast a dark cloud over the CM's Office, raising urgent questions about its motives, integrity, and commitment to truth.

𝐀𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡, Reports emerging from the #Meitei Chief Minister's Office and Home Department, led by the notoriously dishonest #NBirenSingh, necessitate rigorous verification and scrutiny. During the Conference, 𝐌𝐫.𝐊𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 made a bold claim based on this unverified Letter, stating, 𝟗𝟎𝟎 𝐊𝐮𝐤𝐢 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 have infiltrated Manipur in groups of 30+. However, this allegation lacks concrete evidence and credibility.
