It firmly supports our perspective that no one should be silenced or discriminated against because they have sex realist views.

It clarifies some very important points:

1. The Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 (‘FETO’) "prohibits discrimination and harassment against employees" and "service users on the grounds of the protected religious beliefs or political opinions that they hold, do not hold, or express."

2. It is "misleading and wrong" to suggest that "people who hold protected ‘gender critical beliefs'...are not entitled to hold those beliefs or should not be able to express them...".

3. It has been recognised in NI that "...‘gender critical beliefs’ were a protected ‘political opinion’ for the purposes of an employment-related claim under FETO." Thanks to Sara's case @SeeRedWoman1

4. "Employers and service providers should be...supported to ensure that their policies...are operating in a way that affords everyone dignity while at work or accessing services."

Amnesty have apologised for their report labelling women’s rights organisations, LGB groups and others as “anti-rights”.

But honestly I don’t think this excuse of an apology goes far enough.

They say the label “does not represent our institutional position”, but never actually state whether or not they believe gender critical organisations are opposed to human rights.
That’s a major question to leave unanswered

And despite the report being taken down the damage hasn’t been.
It’s still circulating online and continues to be used to smear and harass the groups it named.

If Amnesty genuinely accepts the report was wrong, then deleting it isn’t enough. The organisations it publicly smeared deserve more than an apology. They deserve Amnesty’s public support and a chance to correct the record on their platform.

Women's Rights Network claim against Feile An Phobail was settled on confidential terms before it went to a judge. The High Court in Belfast hasn't rejected anything.

WRN event will not go ahead at Feile, there will be discussion about a WRN event at next year's Feile. No word on costs or damages.

And WRN stated yesterday in a message to BBC Talkback that they were not funded by JK Rowling.

I genuinely don’t understand the fear of sharing views with other people. Finding places of agreement with people we otherwise disagree with is humanizing. People are three dimensional and complicated. Only those who are desperately trying to will fit neatly into one political box. Any free thinking person will find they have views in common with the left, the right, everything in between and, hopefully, some original thoughts of their own.

But you may be shocked to find out which historical political movements infamously did do guilt by association and, ironically, you’re probably not going to want to be aligned with them…
