Yesterday I taught five 55-minute classes and had one 55-minute prep. That's 83% of the day in front of Ss, with only 11 minutes to prepare for each class. If there's research that shows this schedule leads to the best educational outcomes for Ss, I'd love to see it. #bfc530
One thing I love about Abbott Elementary that I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the ethical, kind use of child performers on the show. I am an outlier who thinks kids should not act professionally, and on AE they barely do - they pretty much just act like regular kids— 1/5
Two weeks ago, I had four precious 12-year-old girls, including my daughter, with me at the county fair. They were getting blue Icees and corndogs for the walk to the car and ride home. (1/21)
I’ve covered student debt obsessively for the past 6 years for a documentary (coming soon!). One of the most misunderstood parts of this debate is: folks with graduate degrees. Many seem to think this group is all rich (or soon to be). This is weird & incorrect.

Today at @cranebeachmass my 9-year-old daughter nearly drowned while I was watching her, in full view of two life guard stations, on an uncrowded and overcast day. Drowning doesn’t look like drowning, and I hope a lot of people read this and remember the signs. 🧵
