⚠️ Women and girls in #Syria are being hit hard by funding cuts, with 82 health facilities and 30 safe spaces facing potential closure.
But we can help them receive the care and protection they need.

@UNFPA’s commitment is unwavering.
In the first quarter of 2026, we maintained 1,095 gender-based violence safe spaces across 37 countries.
With our appeal only 23% funded though, we need global support: https://t.co/8MvZCY66Jt

In Ituri Province, #DRC - the epicentre of the #Ebola outbreak - pregnant women are avoiding antenatal care and giving birth at home due to safety fears.
Maternal deaths doubled in June.

It's been reported that an Israeli court ruled Walid Ahmad, a Palestinian child who died while detained in an Israeli prison, was 'likely starved'. He was held for six months without charge.
Sadly, such ill-treatment is not unusual. It is unconscionable that any child should be treated this way.
❗ Content warning: child sexual violence and abuse
Palestinian children are the only children in the world to experience systematic prosecution in military courts. It’s an abusive, inhumane prosecution system, where children are being physically, emotionally and sexually abused, humiliated and starved in Israeli military detention.
The UK Government should publicly call for the release of all Palestinian children arbitrarily detained and call for an end to Israeli military authorities arresting, detaining and prosecuting children.
Everything must be done to prevent a further escalation in the Middle East.
I call on all sides to strictly uphold their obligations under international law, including the @UN Charter, protect civilians & ensure nuclear safety.
Let’s act responsibly & together to pull the region & our world back from the brink.
"For the sake of humanity, I urge all sides to put an end to this brutal war immediately, DSC/HC @RamizAlakbarov to members of the Security Council.

People are being killed simply trying to feed themselves and their families.
The search for food must never be a death sentence.
Let me be clear: Israel, as the occupying Power, is required to agree to and facilitate humanitarian relief.
- @antonioguterres tells reporters
While the conflict between Israel & Iran has dominated headlines, we can't allow the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza to be pushed into the shadows.
The ceasefire between Iran & Israel offers hope.
And hope is more needed than ever.
It's time for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the immediate & unconditional release of all hostages, and full, safe & sustained humanitarian access.
I am deeply saddened to announce the killing of our @UNDP colleague, Ramzi Khader, and many of his family members in an Israeli airstrike on their home in Gaza.
This deplorable and indiscriminate killing of civilians & humanitarian workers must STOP NOW! https://t.co/fkkJ85bsjU

The Iraqi Parliament’s proposal to lower the legal marriage age for girls from 18 to 9 years old is an assault on childhood.
Girls are not spouses—they are children who deserve their right to grow up with protection and dignity.
Worldwide, an estimated 9 out of 10 murders of journalists go unpunished.
Impunity breeds further violence.
This must change.
I call on governments to take urgent steps to protect journalists, investigate crimes against them, and prosecute perpetrators – everywhere.
The health system’s capacity in #Lebanon is deteriorating. @WHO’s medical supplies cannot be delivered due to the almost complete closure of Beirut’s airport.
WHO calls on urgent facilitation of flights to deliver health supplies to Lebanon. Lives depend on it!
Women and girls experience 95% of conflict-related sexual violence.
Sexual violence against women & girls is often used as a tactic of war during conflicts.
On #PeaceDay, let’s commit to ending gender-based violence.

We will tell leaders (once more!) that aid alone cannot address the unbearable human cost of this pandemic of conflicts.
